I don't watch alot of 7s, although i expect it is standard, but that card was a joke, the player with the ball was 100% the cause of that glancing head contact by stopping as she did.
Tacklers at fault by definition aren't they? Even in XVs.

@booboo well I think they are bollocks in 15s too, just shows how the game is struggling with common sense.
Portia running flat out after someone who suddenly stops and steps into her for the body check...
Anywhoo, still a great result.

Tackler has to be in control... you even state right there in what you wrote that she wasn't in control. Surely the ball carrier is allowed to stop without having to take a head battering, or is that a law I missed? The dip from the ball carrier though, that's mitigation. Hence yellow.

I'm using discovery plus, the app is a bit shit (e.g. you couldn't just watch the sevens, you had to watch each individual game as an item), but hey it's free and the quality is really good.
-
@MiketheSnow @Billy-Tell there's also stuff broadcast on Eurosport (TV channels of discovery plus).

Don't disagree

I watched the Canada Australia SF. Australia were in total control, but they fell asleep in the dying seconds of the first half to allow Canada to score from 75m out which seemed to get the Canadians going. Second half Canada played super solid, and as time went on the Aussie error rate crept up with Canada profiting to score several tries. Herculean effort by Canada and they took the BF7s really close in the final.

And, finally, a big shout out to Rlkki Swannell. Outstanding job.

Aussie men finish 4th = good result for them
Aussie women finish 4th = levels of disbelief
What happened in the bronze playoff? Were they just not into it after losing in the SF?
Didn't watch it but heard the US scored a long range try on full-time to take it.
Questions about mental fortitude must be asked...

Watching the SF I couldn't believe how they fell away after looking a million bucks for most of the first half

Pressure does crazy stuff to people. I seem to recall the BF7s playing scared in Rio, but in the final against massive pressure being exerted by the Canadians they looked patient and composed. I think Australia might have been like the ABs in RWC99 and might have allowed themselves to start thinking about the final a little early. And when things started sliding they just couldn't right the ship
