It won't just be mens sevens teams going home before the starting ceremony is complete at this rate.

    For 30 seconds yes!

For 30 minutes not so much!

    Odd ceremony. Made for TV.

Olympics, Rugby, Tennis, Hockey. Is he the world's most versatile commentator?

I was just thinking he'd be an excellent addition to F1

It looks like Golf is Cotter's main sport. Best Rugby commentator of his/my generation by a country mile.

@Bones Ticks all the boxes for me.

    Knows the laws inside out.
Gets all the players' names right.
Clearly loves the game, especially attacking rugby.
    Calls what he sees.
    Funny.
    Knows when to shut up.

I have never watched an opening ceremony in my life, the so called 'highlights' I catch on the news etc proves they are a pile of absolute shit. Very much GOM about this, but have been since teen years, what an utter waste of time and money

@Machpants Me and you both mate!
All they need is someone to stand there and say the games have begun!. I turned on tv this morning and saw it was on and just watched a bit of golf.
I actually say the same with Rugby WC etc, just say the games have started!

A good opening ceremony is enjoyable

    This tried way too hard.

At least with the LA Olympics SoFi Stadium has a roof

I hope future Olympic Opening Ceremonies focus much more on, you know, sport.

Really felt for them with the weather

    Unique concept and location

    Showed Paris off really well

They'd obviously practiced and spent a lot of money on it

Great light show on the Eiffel Tower, but went on far too long

Very odd choice of torch bearers and the boat trip back to the Louvre was far too long

Way too much dancing and LGBAlphabet mincing around

Missed an absolute trick not having Grace Jones sing La Vie En Rose

Did I mention way too much dancing. Really hope the 'athlete' dancers are better than this bunch otherwise we're in for a dud

Cotter worth every penny of the BBC Licence Fee

He could make the phone book interesting, informative, and funny

Puts into perspective how overrated Lineker is

Will be doing this for the Closing Ceremony

    Watching the highlights

Think we all can all empathise with Celine

I had 'Stiff Person's Syndrome' after that 4 1/2 hrs
