@nzzp do they though? Assume the village accommodation is planned out too with events coming/going?
hah I have no idea. Just figured it may not be the complete trainwreck picture you painted. Happy to be corrected ... but I thought people got to stay on

@taniwharugby closing ceremony? Still lots of athletes there!

USA and Canada are ahead of Fiji in the circuit at the moment.
I wouldn't read too much into the circuit in an Olympic year. A bit like TRC in a World Cup year.
I remember in 2016 our 7s team won Wellington and Sydney legs back to back and then crashed out badly at Rio.

The refs play such a big role in sevens. Some calls which led to tries that should/may not have been.
@KiwiMurph Yes, Fiji seem to come good at the Olympics.

I know the football has to start early to fit in the whole comp with enough gaps between games. But is the Sevens starting early just because of other events coming up in the stadium?
Yes. Basically have to play the men’s and women’s before the athletics start.

Weber mentioned “4 more sleeps” until he was home. So gets to see the opening ceremony before he leaves I guess.

Tomasi Cama a rubhish coach.
Starting Joe Webber in a knockout match is one of the most stupid decisions I've seen watching decades (and playing) sevens.
He misses far too many tackles (in fact, the only tackle I can recall he made was at the kickoff for the 2nd half, his one and only good play in the whole match), his passes are piss poor, usually going behind the player he's passing to and he pretty much does the same thing every time he has the ball in hand.To compound that headscratcher, he doesn't start either of the two playmakers used the most thru the HSBC 7s, Cook-Savage and Rokolisoa, yet he starts Collier and Dillon who are both too old and too slow and keeps them on almost the entire match. In fact, Collier played the entire match and contributed almost nothing just because he's the captain he's kept on the whole time... WTF!
And WTF was that from Knewstubb, he was thru the tackle, line open in front of him and he attempts a miracle offload which is intercepted and turned into the match winning score when the SA player looks up, sees only Dillion and Collier in front of him and takes the most logical option, kick and chase when you know you can outpace your opposition, just too easy.
