That little distraction aside it will be interesting to see how we front up for this. Our first test of the year is usually shit so seeing how well a Razor coached team shows up will be intriguing. We know how a Stead coached team managed without match prep recently...
That is a definite concern.
Within reason, this team looks like they've favoured people who have played recently.
Perofeta > Beauden
Jacobson > Blackadder
Ofa > WilliamsOnly four Crusaders in the 23, which must be the least for a Tier 1 test match in a while. Noted for those who were squealing about bias!
-
@Chris-B the Crusaders couldn't make the top 8 in a 12 team competition, even the Highlanders managed that! 4 is too many.
-
Some changes for the second test!
-
@No-Quarter Razor is a very smart man.
When this team stacked with North Islanders falls over the first hurdle, he'll sack Wayne Smith from his selection oversight role and install @ACT-Crusader !

My first thoughts , not a lot different to what fozzie would’ve picked.
I suppose when razor sprinkles his magic dust over them it will look much different.

Definitely need to see what pattern they play. I'm hoping for a little more simplicity, less high risk and more direct

bro, the late Fozzie gameplan was incredibly simple and incredibly risk free
Bend don't break defense
Long periods with ball in play early in the game to tire defenses.
Pragmatic attack to ensure we kept the ball
Low turnover attempts to ensure defensive numbers. It's been a fair while since we were overdoing the kick pass to spread the defense out.

@mariner4life
More like Joe Schmidt's gameplan. -

it's a very "balanced" team, so no obvious pointers to a way they will look to play.
And in reality, there aren't THAT many ways to play test rugby anyway.

He wasn't going to drastically pick a different 23 for test 1 against England with 2 weeks lead in
Let's see how the team evolves over the season
Fozzie's first test he had Jordie at 14. Urgh.

Off the bench Blackadder, TJP and SP, assuming Bodie is FB
Ouch.
-
So annoying not seeing Love there instead of Perofeta. Love overall was much better than him this year. Perofeta definitely looks out of place.

Unfortunately for Love he picked up an injury at the wrong time of the season. He played through but didn't look the same.
His best form came at the beginning/middle of the year rather than the end.
He is very close though

For to even be in the environment is very interesting to say the least…
-
@Landers92 i assume there are tackle bags that need holding
or they swung by rebel, bought some kit and bluffed their way in, this pic is them getting sprung
-
@Kiwiwomble yeah, opposing for the AB’s you would think.

We played some seriously good footy in the finals. Knocking out Ireland was something no other team could have done, that was an incredible performance. All but winning the final with just 14 men was a heroic effort. Fozzie definitely finished on a high.

Frizzell on the park the full 80.
Fuck yeah, Frizzle for 80 instead of 55 - imagine that would mean 3 runs for 27m and 2 for 4 on the tackles - and he had time for another YC, maybe!
-
Like others...I'm not sold on Perofeta...
TJ starting was also a surprise for me.he did play well...I just hope he's not too distracted with his flopping theatrics at the back of ruck trying to milk penalties

My emails to Razor and Rangi aren’t bouncing…yet
