Can confirm. Saw him earlier this year.
The term “Cult hero” should have a photo of Chatfield beside it. What an absolute servant to the game he was.
I remember a very funny conversation I had with an Indian bloke I know and he said that “If this man was a cricketer from my country he would not be mowing lawns or driving a cab, he would be worshipped as a god and not pay for anything”

I worked with his brother (Dennis?) at Naenae Telephone exchange in the dim and distant past - met him once when he had just got into the Wellington team.

Not really, the Hutt is very small and insular. I’m surprised you don’t see him every day.
