Schmidt comes across well. Just what Wallabies need I think.
We had that with Dave Rennie, too... Then pissed away 3 years of his work for a train wreck maaaaaaaate...

More Roar shenanigans talking about Nick Stiles or Simon Raiwalui becoming the head of performance.
-
First domino falls for Tahs with the head of performance role.
Now hire a coach.
Ten months after overseeing Fiji’s greatest World Cup victory by upsetting the Wallabies in Saint Etienne, Simon Raiwalui is set to become the head of performance at the Waratahs. In a full-circle moment for Raiwalui, who moved to Tempe in Sydney with his mother at a young age before starting out his remarkable rugby career with Manly in the Shute Shield, the former Fijian international will become the Waratahs’ head of performance, The Roar understands.

Excellent signing this. Canham looks to have a big future
Have there been any other major signing announcements from the Rebels thus far?

“I don’t use the word upset or past glories, I don’t use past glories as a trump card,” Raiwalui said. “I genuinely wouldn’t have taken the job if I didn’t think that the Waratahs are a success-in-waiting. “I do think they have the bones, they have the pillars, they have the people in place to have success. “There’s obviously things that we need to work on. We need to get the best staff in place, whether it be playing, whether it be off-field. “We need to get the best players through the juniors, women, men; getting all our ducks in a row, so that we’ve got success on the field.”

@KiwiMurph Some good players signing with the Reds early so that they don't get stuck with the Tah's. The Reds are building a potent team for next season. Finalists, you heard it here first!

The Wallabies’ hopes of starting 2024 with a bang have been dealt a blow, with star centre Len Ikitau injured on the eve of their first Test of the season against Wales. Less than 24 hours after Kurtley Beale’s shattering injury for Randwick in the Shute Shield on Saturday, The Roar can reveal Ikitau – the classy Brumbies outside centre – will miss the Wales opener with a hamstring injury. Joey Walton, 24, has been called up, The Roar understands.
