Crusaders vs Blues

@Canes4life nope, don’t think so. Regardless of where they sit on the table the Crusaders scrum has been the best in the competition.

FFS Lam, you just spared the Saders a well deserved YC
That was the final margin. For me a try out wide wasn't sufficient advantage and there ought also to have been a card.
-
@Stag bullshit, when Numia, Aumua and Lomax were together the Canes were dominating everyone. When they played the Saders there was nothing in it.
The Canes scrum obviously hasn’t been as strong since Aumua and Lomax have been injured but statistically we were 1st = before those injuries.

That Saders scrum didn't have Moody or Tamaiti so you can go around and around with this stuff.

@KiwiMurph I’ve got a feeling we might find out in a quarter final.

I thought Strange had one of his better games for the Saders. Stood up in the lineouts - an area where they have obviously struggled this year, and also got a turnover or two. He still lacks the physical presence though.
And Hotham continued his good form. He might actually turn out to be a bloody good player.
Fihaki is also finally starting to look as though he may be Super level after all after a handy last few weeks. I was having doubts about him even at NPC level so it's good to see an improvement.
Unfortunately McLeod has reverted to type after going through a purple patch last year. How the hell was he an AB?
-
@Canes4life I will bow to your logic if they meet again and the canes scrum wins, I don’t think it would. What gives the crusaders scrum the edge is that they have world class props on the bench, and still more in the sheds.
-
@Crazy-Horse I think Hotham might just be an AB bolter

Quite simply because Razor made some limited players look a whole lot better than reality - and then idiotic Foster fell victim into thinking these players were AB quality rather than recognising they were just system players with clearly defined roles and incredibly effective coaching under Razor. Foster was a useless selector.

I think McLeod looked much better once he moved to the wing last year, and it was that versatility which got him to the ABs - he was surprisingly useful in the air and could cover a bunch of positions in the absence of Ennor.

No doubt the Saders have depth for the ages in that department but yeah I’d back our starting three to take it to them.
Still very tough for the Saders to get a playoff spot and I’ve got a feeling the Chiefs may rest most of their starting players for the Blues next week because they can’t really go up or down, so the Canes might not even end up playing the Saders. Who bloody knows at this point. Crazy season it’s been.

And this is why we need to minimise the Blues influence in the ABs
They are inherent losers. It doesn't matter how much talent they have, they will find a way to choke.
The place is cursed

@mariner4life Brother chill, the game was virtually a dead rubber.

Haha, 10 changes to the Blues starting line-up from last weekend, and they only lost by 2 points bro. wasn't the capitulation of last year eh..

Agreed. It’s not even a talent thing, it’s purely ego and arrogance for me. Fuck them all off I say.
-
They haven't won in 21 fucking years.
I give the Waratahs shit, but seriously, thr Blues are worse because they are not Australian and therefore good at rugby.
All the players. All.the resources. Can. Not. Win.

@mariner4life try being a Blues fan.

This year hasn't been that great to be a Crusaders fans sure we may have been spoilt with 7 consecutive titles and another 7, to have a turd of a season like this year is not in our dna. Don't begrudge us this win our backs are still against the wall. Blues are having an awesome season and we were lucky to finally get a win.
