Waratahs v Chiefs

Tahs could be a late season speedbump for other teams if they can get some fit SR level frontrowers back on the field. A lot of lost possession there.
Pretty much every one of the regulars is TBC or "season". So that isn't happening.
Wooden spoon at this stage

Tahs lineout absolutely bereft of cohesion
No comment on the scrum due to amateurs in the front row

I found that a hard watch. Thought a lot of the ref calls and non calls were odd.
Dyer and Finau had big games. Thought Ratima was a bit below his best, although the ref allowed a lot of stuff around the breakdown.
Ioane gives me the jitters... So I hope Stevenson not out too long. -

To be fair neither Coleman or Gordon are whinging in the SMH article I read.
Leckie was quick to intervene on some other incidents but didn't for that tackle. I say some as ALB got hit in the head in a tackle in the 1st half but nothing came of it, and how did Tupou get his swollen eye?

The SMH appears to be on a concerted mission to ensure Finau isn't permitted to tackle anyone again. Two of their sports writers whining about it. Looks to me like a deliberate ploy to put suspicion into the referees and TMOs.

One day it'll go wrong for Finau. Hopefully it's not when he is in the Black jumper.

So far he's four or so smashings for zero penalties - to me that's a ratio I would be happy with in black

Let him keep practicing his timing and accuracy in SR. The more he does it the better he'll get and the more terrified the opposition will be about taking it too close to the line.
