Here. We. Go.

Diaz vs McGregor 2. This should be interesting.

Does anybody really think Diaz is the better fighter? And now they are fighting with equal preperation time at the same weight.

I'm not a CMG fan, but I suspect he's going to win this.
-

P4P I'd argue McGregor is the better fighter. He has excellent striking and he's a very smart fighter. But P4P doesn't really count for a whole lot and Diaz is just a bigger fighter, with probably the best chin in his division. So I think it'll be another Diaz win.

That said, I'm not sure McGregor cares as much as his fans do. Ever since he signed with the UFC, he's been punching well above his position, signing one fight contracts with the UFC and negotiating for as much money as he can. He fucked up with the UFC 200 gamble but still, I think his only real goal is to get as much money as he possibly can and then move on when things turn pear shaped. I don't think he wants to be an idiot like Dan Henderson, Cro Cop, Tito or whoever and fight until he's a crippled old man.
-

CMG inside 2 rounds

-

Unsurprisingly some of the pre-match stuff has turned into a shit fight. The press conference ended up with bottles being thrown etc etc.

I do genuinely think these 2 guys don't like each other, and both are a bit wild untamed animal, but the sport should be careful to distinguish itself from the the WWE etc with these sorts of things.
-

Only seen some of the highlights on the tweet machine but it looked savage.

Great UFC debut for Vettori
Big win for Larkin
Garbrandt looked very impressive
Means is one mean motherfucker
Perry with a great David v Goliath win
Cowboy's got some of the best feet in the business
Johnson v Teixeira, 1 v 2, no ducking and avoiding, the best to fight for the belt. BOOM! That's what makes MMA so good

Diaz v McGregor
Round 1 Smart v Heart. McGregor's game plan executed to perfection. Nullified Nate.
Round 2 Heart v Smart. Natural size getting Diaz back in the fight
Round 3 Heart v Smart. Big shots, big chin from McGregor
Round 4 Smart v Heart. Diaz lost his range when the blood blurred his vision. McGregor more precise
Round 5 Smart v Heart. Smartest round of the fight from McGregor despite Diaz's late takedown
What a fight
That's the way to avenge a defeat
-

Absolutely sensational UFC. Johnson knockout was epic, but man, what a fight Diaz vs McGregor.

Sensational from the word go, swining between the two. Nate will regret the slow start, as that looked like a 10-8 round, and I think took him of the energy and stamina he needed to get McGregor down. But it was just complete brutatilty the rest of it. I actually stood up and applauded at home at the end of it.

If they do a third at 155 ,then Diaz has no chance. He'll have to lose some power, and CMG will just be far far too quick for him there.
-
CM Punk makes his belated debut in the UFC. All Im going to say is I hope hes prepared and anyone who puts 2 years of work in deserves a chance to prove themselves.
Although Tyrone Woodley and Anthony Pettis, who are backing him, were asked what his strengths were, meaning in ring, and the reply was he refuses to give up....
-
Ahahaha Overeem and Browne. Both had some carny crap after they lost, with Browne's coach Edmund (a fuckwit and probably the worst coach in MMA) trying to pick a fight with Werdum and Overeem claiming Stipe tapped that never happened. Embarrassing from both of them.
Punk's fight went about as expected. Completely one-sided. Dude should've just transitioned straight to a commentator, as I think he'd be really good at it. Gall called out Sage Northcutt, who I think he'll crush.

..and the refereeing screwup that allowed Browne to call a timeout because he hurt his finger. It would have been hilarious if the Werdum punch knocked him out at that moment.
The Werdum kick to open that fight was awesome. Shame the 2nd and 3rd rounds were so lacklustre

Only caught the last 2 fights, and it would be fair to say they were rather odd. Werdum/Brown had a cracking opening round, and then just got boring. I think for about a minute there nobody even threw anything. Werdum was the clear winner though, as he landed about 20 strikes for every one of Brown's (no exaggeration).
Miocic vs Overeem was awesome I thought. I've seen Overeem fight three times now and he looks like such a wimp. Always running away, it's such an odd tactic, but then BOOM he just lands a strike which puts the other guy on his arse. The tap that wasn't, was a pretty silly thing to say, but as Rogan said afterwards, he shouldn't be interviewing people who had just been knocked unconcious. The power of Miocic though, was there to say. It was just complete and utter bruatlity when he had Overeem on the ground, and in my view, the ref should have stopped it earlier. Miocic is one tough tough bastard, and absolutely worthy of his title.
