Bledisloe I (All Blacks team room bugged)
First time they've lost the first 4 of a season since 1969 I think I heard an aussie commentator relay in a moment when he could put some perspective on the current state of Australian Rugby -

Just saw the score. Been out at dinner.

That attendance figure is based on the current reality I suppose -

Que? Read in the bin?

And Bono scored before BFA was yellowed in the final.

Thought Bono's try in the final was from the lineout AFTER Smith's card. Could be wrong though.

On the game, great win. Good to not let the Wallabies get whatseems to be their traditional first win of the series.
Hope we can back it up next week and secure the cup.

Thought BB was good as was Cruden when he came on. Read back to his best. Most guys were good come to think of it. Except Fekitoa. Typical game from him really, some decent stuff but some panicy shit. He totally bombed that try before coles saved the day. Looked like he thought he could stroll in.

Coles didn't look 100% (for onvious readons) there was one point in the first half where gave the ball early to his winger where he would usual try and draw the defender first. Having said that he was still pretty good.

For all the talk of ABs midfield being the weakness, did Kuridrani catch a ball all night? Folau for me continues to rival Bono as the most over hyped player in the world. Went missing AGAIN. He is good but nowhere near as good as he gets hyped as.

Will wait to see how the rest of the series goes before commenting on the wallabies too much but they appear to have some big issues. Bringing back semi retired guys who couldn't win the Bledisloe in their prime seems short sighted. Having a whinging captain who only plays 60mins seems like a silly choice and playing two garden gnomes in the back row and wondering why your lineout sucks seems idiotic. -

Do you ever actually watch rugby? Is it that painful being a Wallabies supporter? -

The watching it is mostly disappointing. The gloating is the painful part.

This year I kind of lost interest after my club got kicked out of the local competition with a couple of rounds to go. Plus the Olympics have been on.

Was a rare opportunity to catch up with friends that happened to coincide with Bledisloe tonight. More important things than rugby. -
Hilarity. Me favourite part was the rugby we played straight after halftime. We didn't score, but it looked like we were playing a club side we were that dominant.

Aus were shit, hampered by injury, passive, and the imports added nothing. Their vaunted flankers are shit as well. What the fuck do the do next week? Quade and Palu? They've got fuck all.

Us not perfect. Dagg and fekitoa carried on their form of the last month. Subs didn't have their usual impact, and we let that rabble score.

I love rugby today -
Are you implying,NTA, that it is rare that you can catch up with friends?
As a fan lows come with the territory and in fact improve it. Just as long as not too low!!
You may enjoy Kearns on scrummaging in second half. He's got his own personal overhead camera screen. -
Also, lineout steals make my dick hard

- yeah it is unfortunately. In between all of us being in full-time work, the extracurricular shit with kids, family events, and associated rubbish, lining up everyone's calendar is actually quite difficult even for a Saturday night.

- talking about "lows" is great when you've had practically none in the last 8 years I suppose

- doubt whether I'll find out. Unlikely to see a replay on FTA and have better things to spend two hours on, to be perfectly honest. The people whose opinions I respect have said basically everything I need to know on social media.
After watching guys like Matfield destroy our lineout for years it is pretty awesome doing that to other teams. -

Yeah, kind of confused. Were the Wallabies that bad or were we that good. A bit of both I suspect. The Wallabies were so passive they wouldn't have beaten anyone tonight. Not sure club rugby in France is a good build up for a Bledisloe game. Kind of different to a World Cup where you can have a few warm up games and get up to speed.

That is a pretty good summary I say, Pukunui.

The hype about our littlies who attend the mid week scrum practice is a local phenomenon driven, I venture, by excitable schoolboys who have invested too heavily in selected player trading cards and who need to talk up their resale value. They see Folau take the high ball well and extrapolate from that like a man with malaria having hallucinations.

Steve Hansen has the luxury now, and the vexing problem, of what to do with a team which is starting so well that it is capable of having the win in the bag by half time. Tonight they fell away markedly in focus, application and precision during the second half. The modern game is built around replacements so old excuses about combinations being disturbed no longer hold water.

My comparative example is from another age however I don't recall Gary Whetton's blokes doing that - they were brutes by comparison. Not satisfied to merely wound the other side they went on with the slaughter right to the end.
-

Well Fekitoa had an up and down game, Dagg made a few mistakes but most of the regulars looked superb.

Besides the game in 99 where there Wallabies won by 21, and 1998 in general, not many of those games were the equivalent of 40+ point embarrassments.

World Cups aside, the ABs have an almost ridiculous winning percentage.
