I just wish we would stop putting Blundell before him in the order, it's totally weird decision that I don't understand. The same applied to when Bracewell was in the team.

It's like the selectors are trying to pigeonhole them into being allrounders, when they should be in the team as batsmen first, spin bowlers second.

Matt Henry with another five for !

    His improvement is just incredible.

    Needs some support though !

he's the reverse Marnus - so many dropped catches and missed chances off his bowling that are now reverting to mean.

Damn GP though, what a player. Best fielder, arguably best spinner and a decent batsman. Love it.

    Phillips enthusiasm is excellent too.

….and continues to improve as a bowling option

    Henry gets a 7fer.

    Shot son.

I hope our top order can support the bowlers and actually make a game of this

Pretty average umpiring to turn that last LBW down. That was as plumb as they get.

Batsmen need to buckle down and score some runs. They can bat for over 7 sessions if they want to. Pitch should be at its best this afternoon and tomorrow.

The bowling average gap between Henry and Southee is now down to 2 runs (having been 11 at start of season).

Southee's career average will almost inevitably tick over 30 next innings. It is currently 29.98

Kuggelejeijn getting 6 overs in the first innings. What a pointless selection. This team is absolutely rudderless.

The radio commentators mentioned him being there as ‘batting insurance’

…..apparently he barely made it out to the middle in time and copped some sledging from Australia before being out first ball.

    It’s 29.59

    But your point is pertinent

Decent session for us. All we need to do is bat another 5 and a half sessions and the game will be evenly poised.

So Henry’s 7/67 is our 2nd best bowling vs Oz, only behind Sir Paddles 9/52 back.

As shit as our batting has been this series theirs has not been a lot better. Well it has been better than ours but it’s not like they have scored 400 -500.
Henry has been really impressive just as Ferguson was in the T20s

Aus batting has been shit all season. We are making them look better than Pak and Windies did. But they are coming to the end of their own era/cycle, and their batting stocks are poor.

Encouraging partnership for these two so far.

    Young disappointing once again.

Terrific crowd in too which I always like to see for Test cricket

I haven't watched any of the series since day 1, until a little bit this arvo.

I've watched a lot of England recently. It's such a contrast watching Aus bowl so well to their fields and nz digging their hole waiting to slowly die. Compared to the proactiveness of 'bazball' and watching plans being succesfully or attempted to be disrupted

First chance I've been able to sit down and watch for a length of time. I was watching 2 batsmen working really hard to survive the new ball against skilful bowling in order to lay a foundation for when the pitch gets easier. With so much time left it is all about not getting out. See if these 2 can get to day 3 and then try to bat all day.

Long overdue half century from Latham. KW will bring his up next over and we need one or both to score big.

Doing very well against this incredible Oz attack
