Who becomes captain if Southee is not good enough to keep his spot?

The only question for the playing 11 is Santner vs Kuggelin.

Kylo Ren comes back from the wilderness.

But yeah. Sigh. Probably Scott K.

Or a young tyro, tall fast and not already picked. I don't know who that is after WOR

    No way.

he shouldn’t be anywhere near a test team…..and thats just judging him on what he’s done on the field.

So what are we thinking the side look like tomorrow

    1.Latham
    2.Young
    3.Williamson
    4.Ravindra
    5.Mitchell
    6.Nicholls/Phillips
    7.Blundell
    8.Santner
    9.Henry
    10.Southee
    11.O'Rourke

    Jettison Nicholls and I reckon that’s 100%.

MASSIVE chance for Young to make or break it. I’m a fan so hoping for the former.

Loads riding on KWs shoulders. Absolutely nothing new here.

Despite the massive ton vs SA I’m not convinced about Ravindra yet. Lots of our batsmen have started with a hiss and a roar and fizzled out.

Hoping Mitchell can continue the fine form.

Let’s see if Blundell remembers he can actually bat. High score of 17 not out in his last 10 innings.

Philips and Santner are still somewhat bits and pieces, let’s hope they add up.

That pace attack isn’t gonna scare oz too much overall.

While we’re ( harshly or otherwise ) picking on individuals.

Tom Lathams average vs Australia is 26. This doesn’t really fill me with a huge amount of confidence.

Almost all our batsmen bar Mitch Jr, Kane and Ravindra are in some sort of dip in form right now. Hopefully we can rise to the occasion, I expect us to get pumped

He’s got past 50 ( well, 29 to be exact ) in test cricket once in 10 innings. Granted once he passed it he passed it and then fucken some……but I don’t think he has enough runs on the board ( yes that was intended ) to class him as being “in form”.

Sounds like you don't know what "in form" means. But I know you actually do. Which makes your post very strange.

    Five tests to gauge……10 innings.

One incredible score in those 10 innings, the rest are sub par for a specialist batsman. That incredible score was against a limited team. He then got 29 and 20 against that team next time round.

For such a small sample size this isn’t “in form” in the slightest.

Really interested to see how O'Rourke stacks up vs Aussies. Great barometer for where he is at.

He's talking form, not looking at the stats of his historical test career for which are majority too old to be relevant to form.

OK, cheers for clearing that up.

240, 12, 29 and 20 is still a bit inconsistent for my liking. Let’s see how he goes against Oz huh ?

This appears to be wrong according to whats been spotted at the nets and the way Southee has talked (praising the spin options of Ravindra and Phillips) Santner was seen doing throw downs to Kuggeleijn.

So now its likely to be..

He probably won’t bat that high……in any case, this is pretty shit. I’d rather they reached out to Doug Bracewell than him.

Then again I’d rather they picked Santner than both of them…..and given my past criticisms of him this is quite the statement.

Not quite sure Phillips/Ravindra are quite Lyon standards despite showing signs of being pretty handy.

Was Kuggeleijn injured earlier in the summer? Or was he just not picked for those other squads?
