It’s gonna take me awhile to adjust to not having the adidas gear. The last few years were pretty tame by their standards but over the past 20 years there were some absolute beauties.
see, i'd say Adidas were phoning it in for years, early ones showed some thought but for at least a decade they were just using a template so one team might fluke a good one (often the chiefs in my opinion for some reason) if the template suited them but often not. hardly any would be iconic as we've seen almost every suggestion for a heritage jersey is one from 96-2000
in saying all that i dont think Classic hit it out of the park but i think that might be the directions theyre being given. if you look at NRL, NPC jerseys or old school rugby jerseys in general and they often have something kind of iconic/unique...where are the super jerseys are generally just a solid block of colour...and sometimes the crusaders get stipes of some sort

Entertaining first game. Pleased to have rugby back.

Hope I am wrong - but its hard to see this season being much different from the last....same teams fighting for the top of the table, and the fact that the top 8/12 teams can make the finals really makes a meal of it in my opinion..... still a lot to work on ... at a minimum I'd go to a 6 teams finals model, as per @frugby above.
Concerns:
Hope the mouth guard tech doesn't become a new "feature" of an already complex game.
The rule modification has not stopped aerial tennis
Officiating still has a wide variability of quality or lack there of.
Commentators still cheerleading and talking over officials etc.Positives:
Couple of good sized crowds for 1st round - Saders v Chiefs and Landers v MP in particular ---- will be watching the Melbourne "Super round" with interest - but I expect to see a lot of empty seats. It will be interesting to see how the attendances will continue once we are in business as usual mode.MP look to have improved - although it could also be a reflection of where the Landers are at.
Some good tries were scored even with the predictable rusty combos of the 1st round.

I like the idea of a Super round in a neutral venue(s): Japan / Hong Kong / Singapore / States
If they did it a bit later in the year, they could run a couple of games in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the States and make a bit more of an effort to grow the international fanbase. I wonder whether China (ShanghaI) could also be an idea for a game.

My view it's unbelievably stupid doing this. I hope it's kicked into touch and forgotten about. Except as a study to understand how something so stupid was ever implemented.

That sounds like a excellent strategy.
There can't be any reasonable reasons to try to establish and grow fan bases in countries with significantly higher populations than NZ and Eastern Australia.
Especially if those places have significant expat fan bases and already show interest in rugby.

I have no issue with Super Round, but it should be an extra round so all the teams are guaranteed 7 home games.

I’ve said before, super round should be late season In Brisbane with the final match between tahs and reds, cooling off a little later in the year and try and build up that rivalry
-
@Kiwiwomble Might be tough to get Suncorp available once the League season is in full swing - especially 6 games cutting up the turf

Ballymore? Back to the traditional home of Qld rugby. Smaller so more of a chance of a sell out.

That might answer @KiwiMurph’s point

Used to love Ballymore, but by geez it a nightmore for transport etc, nothing to do in area either. I think they have to have ir somewhere where crowds can get too easily?
