Team Naming v Highlanders: Pre Season in Methven
The Crusaders have named the squad to take the field versus the Highlanders in Methven on Friday, in the final pre-season fixture before Super Rugby Pacific 2024 kicks off.

Anything less than a bucket load of tries for the Highlanders and conceding stuff all would be a failure with this game. They are running out tackle bag holders and we are putting out our topside.

I suspect they're still running out more ABs than you in the game though?

Certainly are. But the rest are tackle bag holders.

Hawkins has been with them all pre season but didn't go on the plane overseas...guy has alot to offer off the park and to the squad.

@African-Monkey always thought he was a decent bloke who likely has a career coaching after he hangs up the boots, but a limited npc player for sure, and even though played some of his better rugby the past 2 seasons off the bench, was still a surprise to hear he had been called in for injury cover.
He is a true battler
That squad of the Crusaders have named is interesting, good to see Toby Bell is still there.

Who is George Reeves ?
He was in the same Hamilton BHS 1st XV as Hotham and Kemara. Mainly a loose forward but also played lock back then.
There are some players listed who will be in the Crusaders U20s.

Mostly players from the Crusaders academy.

man, i hate games like this, talk about banana skin. Crusaders full of academy guys or people coming back from injury and more or less out first string so on the surface we should win easy...but these guys are in the crusader academy for a reason...and if it any less than a hiding then could be a blow to the confidence....and then there is the chance of injuries...

Injuries are the huge concern. Suddenly we lose two or three guys, and we are well screwed.
