Black Caps v South Africa

Good start to the morning. Ball doing a little so will probably be tough hour through to lunch. If we can get through that I think we'll be pretty well positioned for a similar day to day 1 in the first test (in that we'll have two fairly slow scoring sessions and look to accelerate through session 3).

Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins all got erections watching that.

Starc will be bowling 20kmh faster and the ball will be coming from a foot or two higher trajectory. It's hard to see Devon playing his way into form against that attack. Usually it's our form players who play themselves out of form vs Oz.
Paterson is really an old school stock bowler who should be meat and drink to our openers.
I wonder whether we should push Tom Blundell back into opening and bring in another keeper?

No.
His runs have dried up of late batting at six ( high score of 17 not out in nine innings )
You really think he’d go any better opening against that Aussie bowling attack ?
I think we’re at the point where Young gets a go no matter how Conway goes in the second innings.

Conway needs a stint back in domestic cricket to find some form and confidence.
We can’t carry him against Aussie.
Surely an average of ~24 over the last year at a rate of 35 is test winning?
