Gotta give credit to Parker. I wrote him off and thought he'd walk onto something after winning every round but it became evident after about round 7 that Wilder was confused by Parker constantly staying on the outside of Wilder's right whilst constantly making himself a moving target so Wilder couldn't set his feet at any point or get him to walk onto a trap, something Wilder is usually very good at, but looked rather clueless out there and disinterested too in all honesty. I think it's time for Wilder to retire as his heart doesn't seem in it anymore.

Kevin Barry was right. Wilder has nothing after the trilogy vs Fury.
…..and he showed serious heart and guts in that series of fights. But only one ( very short ) fight since then ?
I reckon he’ll give it away. Hopefully he has invested the money as he says he has.

Did not see that coming either
Well done

Only saw highlights but Parker was impressive. He has changed his physique and seems a lot more aggressive with higher workrate in the ring.
Outstanding win!

I watched it again , the constant feints had wilder all twitchy too and he spent most of the fight not set up to be offensive .
I suspect wilder is finished, fury took his heart .
I see this fight as a combination of that, with Joe producing a career best performance in executing a fight plan .

Much respect to Joseph, he’s not afraid to take on a challenge
Facing the guy who beat the guy who beat him.
…..but as we all know combat sports don’t work that way. Parker has genuinely improved massively since his loss to Joyce.

In boxing forums he is respected for exactly that ,he will fight anyone,
I’m guessing the fight plan will involve a lot of movement, I haven’t watched a lot of zhang outside the Joyce and hrgovic fights but there was a lot of talk before Joyce 1 he tends to tire in latter rounds .

Zhang is heavy, slow, and getting old, but he seems very tough and uncompromising. With his height, aggression and awkwardness I think this could be tough for Parker unless he can waltz around and tire him out without wilting under Zhang's power.

All criticisms you could level at Joe Joyce who beat Parker.
BUT…….Parker has made me eat some online words with his improvement, increased power and aggression. This fight will be very interesting.

Two good points! I would have thought Joyce was a better-trained all-round boxer than Zhang, but I may have underrated the latter!

Yeah Joyce got out juggernaughted by another juggernaught…..TWICE.
Slightly pedantic maybe but mentioning a boxer as being “tough” is pretty redundant. They all are.

Joyce was tailor made for Zhang - he marched forward and his defense revolves around letting his opponent hit him in the head until the opponent tires- worked well v sick and average puncher in Joe but not a big bang.
Parker will snipe and move in and out.
Hopefully has some decent southpaw sparing lined up -

Hopefully has some decent southpaw sparing lined upBrief but excellent summary. Boxing ( or any combat sport ) is full of examples of A beating B, B beating C but then C beating A.
A couple of years back I would have predicted Parker get a similar mauling by Zhang ( who has all of Joyces strengths with the added awkwardness of being a southpaw ) but that performance vs Wilder really made me stand up and take notice.
Of course there is the argument that neither Wilder or Fury for that matter are the same fighters they were before their trilogies. Trilogies fuck guys up like nothing else, the fact Ali had two of them vs Frazier and Norton really defies belief. These ( and so many other tough fights ) are such a factor in the greatest of them all declining so much later in life.
I’ll say it again, Parkers improvement really is amazing.

Joyce had no defence against that big left hand , it was like he was repeatedly hit in the head with a sledge hammer and could do nothing about it .
Parker on the other hand has improved his footwork out of sight under Andy Lee and won’t be that stationary target for zhang.
On the same card as Joshua ngannou , the saudis have been a breath of fresh air for the sport with more to come .

well I should say I may have under-rated Zhang's footwork - not quick but pretty effective.
And the slowness comment is not meant for his handspeed-it's pretty good.
