I feel for grads and people in their 20s. I loved being at work and the social aspect that came with it - impromptu drinks and things of that nature. Allowed me to develop relationships and it's there that I basically made my career.
So now many of them have to work from their share houses instead of in the office? I'd hate that for so many reasons.
But as a mid 30s father of two, I love my two WFH days each week. Just for the time saving of not having to commute. I get an extra hour and a half to spend with my kids, help my wife, do daycare drop/pick up etc. And I can get dinner started or hang the washing out as needed.
Am I as productive? Probably not but I make up for that when I'm in the office Tues-Thurs. So I think it all balances out.

So seems 3 years later I've eventually joined the club and contracted the dreaded lurgy.
Not 100% confirmed as we chucked out the RATs, but if it's not then fuck actually getting it.
Chesty cough since Wednesday. Wrecks your ribs.
Not really feeling ill per se, just tired and coughing up a lung or two. Sat at laptop, as meant to be first day back, for half an hour twice yesterday, then crashed for two hours.
Would appreciate advice of where there might be any additional stuff to read, because I've pretty much finished the internet (and can't go to the library). (Or podcasts ... I know there's a thread.)
Extended Summer holiday.

So, tested negative.
Kind of disappointed.
Cough is still pretty rough though.
The Boy is exactly the same - cough developing into something chesty, 5 negative RAT in a row. If it hasn't reserved by day 3 or 4 it probably isn't Rona.
He's on antibiotics because we're on holiday and I want putting up with that shit

Genuine question
Why are people still testing?

But of that, a bit of I'd like to join the club, a bit of work still has protocols around return to work (they're based in Canada) ... but primarily curiousity.

Actually, further to above, not sure if I'd have told work anyway.
Criteria I think are something like test negative if you tested positive or be "symptom free" for x days if you haven't tested.
BFD, I'll just WFH regardless.
So again it comes back to my curiousity.

In our work it would be expected for me or my staff to report if we got the vid. Otherwise I'd test unofficially for my own reasons. But I'd have to be pretty sick first
