@kiwiinmelb You could be right, will be interesting to see who appears on that card. I have heard that Opetaia was meant to face Mairis Breidis on this card, but won't be ready in time so will apparently fight on the Fury Usyk card against Opetaia instead.
Might see Ngannou appear again against someone like Chisora? Some of Tysons brothers there somewhere as well?

I think throwing a card together on short notice and getting the big names involved,
You probably have to entice them with good money and a fight they are comfortable with on a limited preparation,
Opetaia is an exciting prospect , most aussies at this stage dont know who he is, but i think that will change, i went to school with his uncles in NZ

@kiwiinmelb Funny about Opetaia because he is easily their best fighter along with Tszyu, difference being that Tszyu has the famous name, hence being easier to promote, and Opetaia fighting in the not so glamorous CW division.

I am excited as fuck about Parker vs Wilder particularly as I’ve just found out I’m travelling the day before, not Xmas eve.
While the girl and her Mum will be rushing around on Xmas eve decorating, baking, wrapping etc I can plow through a few beers with her old man and watch it live !
It will be a really intriguing fight.

If Wilder has been training and taking it seriously then it won't go 3 rounds
Too fast, Too Furious

Yeah I think this is a step too far for Joe.
He just isn’t in that top echelon of heavyweights

I can see parker looking quite good with his new busier style for a bit , then walking into a big shot

Where do you guys reckon Wilder rates compared to other huge hitting heavyweights?
I’m thinking Liston, Williams, Foreman, Lyle, Shavers, Tyson, Lewis etc.
Wilder isn’t as bad a boxer as people say but he’s still something of a one trick pony.
Very good at that trick though !

Wilder sets his right up well- he has long limbs so if your thinking your out of range he can still KO u.
Where he struggles is when the fight is taken to him and those long limbs become a hinderance. Getting there is the dangerous part.
Fury could do it as he is massive limbed and weight advantage- Parker doesn't have those advantages so he must keep moving off the centre line so Wilder can't set his feet. Sounds easy enough but doing it 3min of every round as well as your own offense is hugely draining and Wilder is happy to wait....
can't wait for it
Best fight though may well be Miller v Dudois -

Yes Fury is very adept at just leaning on his opponent and tiring them. But back to Wilder, how is his fitness? From memory he doesn't seem to pace himself sometimes or perhaps he has a stamina issue.

Wilder has a shitload of heart which people seem to forget too, he certainly won’t go down easily.

Best fight though may well be Miller v DudoisAnd it’s wilders ability to close the space quickly that makes him dangerous as well , a fighter can think he’s comfortably out of his range and within the blink of an eye he slides forward into range with the right hand following through coming straight down the line .
I remember an interview with Ben Davidson after fury wilder 1 , and he said the thing that surprised him most about seeing wilder up close was his speed .

Joseph will attempt to use movement, his footwork and range of punches has improved a lot under Andy Lee .
And I think he is a better boxer now than when he won the title , even if the results don’t reflect that .
But is still short of the top

Hard to compare power . He’s a bit different though , tall and lean with those fast twitch muscles , if anyone he reminds me of tommy hearns in a heavyweight body.
What is scary is how often when he hits them clean they aren’t just down , they are fast asleep .

Indeed, makes Fury’s effort to get up from his bombs all the more impressive.
He has put guys to sleep but then again he has fought a lot of “tomato cans” as the term goes.
I’ve shared this before but I’ll share it again, this is possibly the biggest single punch I’ve ever seen in boxing. The fact Holmes got up and WON is nothing short of incredible to me.

@kiwiinmelb He doesn't get anywhere enough credit for his control of distance either. Fury was just smarter than him overall in terms of ring iq in general, but people just treat Wilder as someone who's sloppy with a lack of skill, but he is indeed very crafty in terms of closing the space with his front foot and forcing guys to lunge in and lose concentration in the pocket, like he did in Ortiz 2 and against Szpilka.
