@LABCAT lol Sears will be a much better bowler than Milne IMO.

Conway said he was the quickest bowler he had ever faced when Sears came into the Firebirds setup a few years ago.

At the time he believed him and Ravindra were going to have a huge futures in the Black Caps. He’s so far right on one of them, hopefully he’s right with Sears aswell.

Sears was injured most of last year but hopefully he hits his stride this year. He took a wicket in the first ball he bowled this year against Canterbury.

Starc is holding his spot on his performances not like Southee and Boult who are there on past performances.

Agree on Southee unfortunately but Boult's current world ranking is 7 in ODIs and Starc is 20th.

Not for long Boult is going to slide over the next 12 months I have been a fan of Boult,
But the signs are there he is done every one has their time.

@Chris On a similar topic - do you think it was the right call to play Chapman over Neesham last night?

Jimmy is on his way out - but, I think he was more likely to hit 30 off 10 balls than Chapman - if that was what was needed, and it was always likely to be.

Neesh will go down as a real unfulfilled talent for me.

I thought he had the potential to be one of the world’s top all rounders.

yep fair call there I think, he just didn't quite get there.

Seemed like he had the potential to be a rich man's Jacob Oram. Didn't kick on. A bit like that other guy we used to have who came out firing early in his career, bowled frisky medium pace and big hitter in the lower order. I can't remember his name but he had some big games including smashing a bunch of 6s in an ODI in Qtown years ago

    Corey Anderson ?

    Whatever happened to him?

He only played 53 first class matches according to Wikipedia.

I thought those two would be fighting it out for the all rounder spot in the Caps for years. He was arguably even better and even more unfulfilled than Neesh.

At least Neesh was a dangerous bat in tests and ODIs at times

    Ok good work.

I guess neither of them could compete with the awesome force that was Colin De Grandhomme in the long run.

it is worth noting that while our attack hasn't been awesome, India's amazing attack in the best of their own conditions gave up 327
And what i would consider a great attack in Australia's has given up 306, 291, 383, 305, and 311 in this tournament alone.
Not a great tournament to be a bowler (unless you are Indian right up to last night).

I made this same point a few posts back.

Seems it’s easier to criticize than give credit.

I sweated a river if that helps, but since you are concerned I am heading in side to write some high performance reports and go through some video analysis.

But before that I might jump in to the recovery pool the Qld Firebirds netball WTG girls are doing a pool recovery session.
