Mendis and Latham must really hate their bowlers this week. India 193/2 after 30 overs...
Then all out for 55. Yeesh...
-
@NTA Holy shit, that's the sort of scoreboard you see in schoolboy cricket.
India make 357.
Both SL openers make golden ducks - as does no. 7.
4 and 8 also make ducks.
3 and 5 each make 1.
They're at times 2/3, 3/4, 14/6 and 29/8.
After India made 357!!!
Fuckers will probably beat us in the final round!

@Chris-B yeah that reminds of a 40 over game I played at club level where we put 427 on them and bowled them out for 45. Outrageous scorecard for the professional game.

You could have played for India, Sameer!

So the decision by SL to bowl first was a good one for the fans, because then at least they got to see one full innings of play.
Had they batted first it would have all been over in 25 overs.
I'm not sure the fans would have cared. Most of them are supporting India. They'll take bowling out the opposition in two overs for 0 and then a first-ball 6 to win.

Oz in a bit of early trouble. 61/2 after 13 overs.
Wee Davey and Travis both out cheaply.
With Max having fallen out of a golf cart and Mitchmarsh gone home, that's their top four batsmen at the tournament out of commission in this game.
Need plenty from those needing some form.

What a dick move by Shakib.
Spirit of Cricket again right?
Mankad, Bairstow, Mathews. All in the laws. Timing out without deliberate delay is tough - but arguably your only job as a professional is to get to the crease ready to play.
Legal, but a bit shitty is my take. And England can FRO - they didn't withdraw a runout appeal after Elliott ran into Collingwood a few years ago. Spirit of cricket is so bloody nebulous.
I have no idea any more honestly.

I always figured the intent of the rule was to catch out a middle/lower order batter who scuttled down to the servo to grab a pie, without anticipating a top order collapse. Not so much what happened to Angelo.
But I guess when it takes you 1 min 55 secs to get out to the middle to start with, you're risking trouble. Especially given the already slow over rates in international cricket.
