Not sure that's true. Yes, there are a few there on money, but the best drivers in the world are in F1, no question.
Just seen this and - not sure that's true.
Also - yes - question. Some of the best drivers, but some dross as well.
Driver selection is largely about money from what I see. Sponsorship, fan numbers, nationality, etc. Some incredibly talented drivers that never even get a look in. Pretty tough for someone with no real money, from a small country, that doesn't have a home GP to get a gig, no matter how good they are. Dixon is (on numbers) the second-best Indy car driver in history and he got one test drive session in F1 (IIRC), so it appeared that he wanted a crack. It is possible that he was so far off that they didn't pursue it, but highly unlikely.
I hope Lawson gets a look in as he is clearly gifted. Red Bull are also a brand that associates itself with the best, and a "winners" attitude, so there is hope.

I question it.
Especially the ones that pay the teams to be there
Did you read my entire post?
I even say the above.
Sargent snd Stroll are leagues below Verstappen and co. But that doesn’t mean the best drivers aren’t in F1.

@MajorRage It’s semantics really but a few of the best drivers are in formula one I reckon. A shame that what should be the pinnacle of motor sport doesn’t have all of the best drivers and is diluted because of it. My opinion of course.
Would be fascinating to see a guy like SVG get a go. His NASCAR debut was amazing. McLaughlin slotted into an open wheeler easy enough. Armstrong is bloody good for a youngster and that’s just the kiwis. They only have talent unfortunately and not the other requirements to get a F1 job.

I swear LeClerc made a deal with the devil: Skill for luck.

Alonso is a monster and it's so sad that apart from a couple of years a Renault he's never been in the best car in the field.
The work he did for Ferrari during the Vettel era in particular was outstanding - the red bull and the McLaren were generally better cars, and lotus and mercedes were about equivalent but he just got everything he could from it and was in title battles that he had no business being in.

A shit track for what will be the most American involvement in F1 to date. <- That's not an endorsement.

@antipodean Any idea what the drivers think of it?
