Black Caps should have bat first. Proteas dont chase well.

Yep, Latham's captaincy struck again on that one.

Looks like the BCs are as dumb as the ABs. SA have an insane recent record of massive wins when they bat first. Their record batting 2nd is nowhere near as good so why put them in?

Boult has had enough of Henry giving away too many runs and no wickets. Tells him to fuck off

Sounds like he opened his pie shop again

By crikey that’s a hiding and a half.

Neesham having a match he’d rather forget as quick as possible. Just awful

ehh, we're in the semis unless we drop both games to Pakistan and SL. Then it's a one off day, who executes. I'd still see SA in the semi over Aus or India.

I think the final is going to be between India and SA. Tipping India go win it at home.

    100%

India red hot favourites. SA will choke, Aus can't play spin, and we're a starters chance of another mental game against them. But it's theirs to lose.

    Damn!

    Greedy Jaapies!

@MN5 - Neesh used to be a halfway decent death bowler, though he could never bowl 6 good balls - he's cannon fodder these days.

I hope the news that Kane and Ferg are close to fit - and Henry's departure was precautionary - is right, because we're very short on players - and seam options - and a quick turnaround with Pakistan on Saturday.

    Bloody Neesh.

I still hold out vain hope that he’ll become our version of Ben Stokes in the longer version of the game. That would be nice.

Cant believe we opted to bowl against a team that struggles when bowling first and the conditions at that ground dont always favour batting second.
To make matters worse we just had injuries upon injuries, will be interesting if we field a full team next match

@bayimports Whatever the thinking was on that - it appears to have backfired pretty spectacularly.

Our net run rate has blown out the back door faster than their dinner from Pune. Essentially taking us from easily making semis to possibly not making the semis. If we do, will only finish fourth at best right now

It would be typical of Pakistan to beat NZ.

Yes. I’ve always thought Pakistan are like the French Rugby team. Capable of massive wins alongside brainfarty losses.

I can’t comment on the Pakistani Rugby team or the French cricket team though.

Knowing the Blackcaps we'll stress and fret about making the semi's, get in by the skin of their teeth and then lose the first playoff game.

Never going to happen. He hasn’t been able to bowl at a consistently high level for a long time. Hasn’t bowled a decent spell since Lords 2019.

Stokes is a non bowling all rounder too though. I fail to see much difference

I just get frustrated cos I think in terms of talent he could have really stepped up as a really good test all rounder.

Fern favourite Colin De Grandhomme did a pretty decent job though it must be said.
