RWC Final: All Blacks v Springboks
-
A couple of guys hesitated at key times, indecision forced by the pressure of the situation.
1 fucking point

I hate it when the ABs lose and feel gutted for all the retiring players, but I also feel pretty proud of the team and what they put together this RWC campaign.
Backs against the wall, lots of hoping and wishing (not without good reason) but they came together as a group and found those intangibles. We played with confidence. Our forwards grew an arm and a leg in terms of cohesive play and workrate. Mo’unga was excellent. Our midfield may not have fired today but what a tournament.
Well done Foster and crew.
Congrats Boks and all the TSF Bok supporters. Still can’t stand ya and this version seems even more unlikeable….

@Mattasaurus Oh boo, boo, boo.
When the game came down against SA, he did nothing.

@mariner4life Literally one penalty kick from a win.

Mentally not quite there, bit fragile at time and think the occasion got to some of them. Disappointed as a win would have been magical for this team, but who would have guessed this lot would have been in a RWC Final and lose by 1 point down to 14 men for 50 minutes of the game?
Disappointed, but not gutted. At the end of the day they left the jersey in a way better place than it was at the end of the RWC 2019 Final.

Have a look in the mirror..
Cos I am not the one crying or blaming one player. -
A shout out to Christie. I thought he played well and liked the pressure he was putting on at those defensive scrums. Cleared the ball cleanly.
That one ruck it spurted out was not his fault. He was right there and the Boks were rightly penalised for flicking it out of the ruck with their hand.

That's it, for all the disappointed wailing and gnashing of teeth, it was right there, and in all honesty we should have won.

Boks played clever rope a dope, as they always do. We knew what was coming but, as mentioned above, our guys weren't mentality there. The boks, and the way they play are just knock out rugby gods, they eat it up and win. We helped, and a few more blue heads we'd have won. But we don't have enough of those, even in our leaders. Next one in Oz is ours
