@Frank Rassie always produce something exciting for us. They worked since 2018 for this final. Expect the unexpected.

I don't think you understand my meaning.

    I don't mean something "exciting".

I mean Bok forwards being pulled off by the coaching staff, pretending it is for an HIA assessment when really it is to give them a rest and bring them back on later when they are "cleared".

Which I suspect is what happened against France.

I think @OomPB understood you perfectly.
As he said - Rassie always produces something exciting for Bok fans 😉

Will be exciting if Wayne Barnes punishes them for it on the pitch. But I guess that won't happen if it is within the rules.

And to be fair, if our coach was coming up with smart moves, I'd probably be right behind him.

The thing with Rassie is that he stays within the laws as they stand at that time.
He just finds ways to try and get an advantage within those rules all the time. It may not be as the rule was intended, but it is still within the rules.
If WR doesn't like it - as in the "waterboy" scenario - then they must change the rules.
But if he is not breaking any rules at the time, the ref can't interfere.

You think it’s not against the rules to fake HIAs?

If you're genuinely faking it, then it is at the very least against the spirit of the rule.

But given the (correct imo) focus on the long term risks of playing on with head injuries, who makes that call to check a player out after a head clash? Who decides if an HIA is warranted or not?
If it were my responsibility, I would most definitely err on the side of caution. Your potential liability, never mind the serious risk to the player is simply too big.

So a tough one to police, or for that matter for fans to make judgement on from the sidelines.

No surprises. Nepo & Sami T on to strengthen scrum in last 20.

Feel for Newell but it’s probably a sensible decision.

I’m glad we’ve not copied the Boks crazy 7-1 idea.

@Tim Same starting XV, but Tupou Vaai, Braydon Ennor and Caleb Clarke were on the bench rather than Sam Whitelock, DMac and ALB.

@African-Monkey Frizell? Why do they keep picking him? Ioane isn’t a centre. Beaudie is past it. Our old locks aren’t up to it. Why is Codie starting and not Sami?

    😎

Williams sure has had a meteoric rise. He will be finishing off the biggest game and yet he’s still a 23yo pup.

Boks starting with plan B with plan A sitting in the stands?

Running rugby versus anti-rugby in a true good versus evil showdown. Or am I just over dramatising this because of how slow the week is going?

Nah, it’s men in shorts, but I think most of the neutrals in the stands or watching on TV will be supporting the Men In Black for the evening.
