Scrum now worries me. Lomax and De groot need to have masive shifts.
Our backup props worry me more than our starters. Ox off the bench is a better scrummager than Kitshoff, so it's a risk to select Williams and Newell imo. Would rather have Nepo and Ofa.
We are absolute nuts if we select Newell ahead of Nepo for final.

Damn, have to give credit to the Boks for sticking at that, they looked out of it the whole game, took most of their experience off the field, and still managed to get the win at the end.
I'm a wee bit disappointed England didn't win, I think we could have rolled them pretty easy, but instead we'll have a massive fight with the Boks.

Exactly. Don't understand why some are happy to play SA, when England are definitely an easier opponent for us.

I couldnât care less about the volume of kicking and lack of ârugbyâ. Thatâs the great thing about rugby, more than one way to win a game. Especially in weather like that.
Iâm very glad we donât play like that though!
What irks me is the constant stoppages and time wasting and using medics and water runners to coach. They need to get the fuck off the field. They shouldnât even be miked up.
If it carries on like this, we might have to go to neutral medics and the players can drink the rain from the sky
Absolute disgrace
Like Ă 1,000
The fĹŻckers come and go as they like and lurk right on the touchline. The sooner they get rules in place to at least blunt this shit the better.God I hope we win next week. I couldn't stomach that psycho whinger and his antics coming out on top. Say what you want about Foster (he'd have a heart attack if he tried to run the water) but the guy does at least have some class and I doubt he uses a burner account to criticise people he doesn't like.

Oh cool now we're moaning about teams playing wet weather rugby different than us
Can't speak for anyone else, but what made the game crappy for me were the stoppages, not the style of play.

The old loose forward in me fucking loved that. Just a dirty shitfight
The English back row were so fucking good. In fact England won everything except....
The 2nd half scrums. And it killed them. Everything south africa either fashioned, or used to get themselves out of trouble, was off a scrum penalty. And that brought England back and rammed home their inability to turn pressure in to points.
Both teams could and probably should have just picked two extra loose forwards to play in th3 midfield for all they did. Game completely bypassed them.
Hard to call it a deserved victory, but in a game like that you just need to find a way to be in front at the end. South Africa found the scrum.
Seeing as they lost by one, I guess the loss can be put down to Farrell getting marched 10 for mouth. Lol.

What was the point of picking Billy V? The guy was slow, made handling errors and was ineffective. Great in the past but is well past it now. They should have gone with Mercer who is a far superior player.
Yeah he added nothing but made two crucial errors

To paraphrase Johnny Sexmoaner 'sometimes you get what you deserved'

@Dodge exactly. The tactics were right because the Boks arial game out wide is not one of their strengths.
I wouldâve been livid with the ABs if we started trying to ârun itâ in those conditions when there was opportunity to kick to the wings and have the likes of Jordan, Jordie and Telea creating havoc on the kick chase.
Still baffled by that last scrum penalty.
Well at least Hawkes Bay lost.
Not sure our kick chase is that good. What SA do is they get as many around the ball as possible and great confusion. Plus their wingers attack the ball in the air better. We should stick to our game. A close game with few points favours Springboks.

@Machpants hospitality drinks affect journalism đ
Looks like the results of substances stronger than alcohol

Ironically the slow pace England forced on the game gave them control but I think ultimately cost them the game as those fat fuck saffer props had the energy to just push in scrums.
-
Thoughts on the deciding penalty? Aerial view looked like the green shirt angling in a lot more than white?

Peak Walrus. Comedy gold! England have made 4 finals. This wouldnât rank in the top 10 England performances for me.
Fuck me that is embarrassing, he's getting worse!
He loves this style of game beautiful it gives a chance to think and write.

Why are people complaining about the try?
I couldn't see anything wrong with it.
Shame England didn't win as I doubt they would have any chance against the All Blacks.
Because the runner off the back of the lineoit was tackled to the ground and got up and went again without releasing
But was he held?
Yes!
Just looked. Yes he was, but it's unclear to me what he did after that, there's no clear replay of what happened. It certainly looked real-time as if he got up, but potentially just rolled over. Would like to see that from the sideline camera.
I understand your disappointment though @Dodge
To be fair, it doesnât matter what he did after that. He was tackled, got up, went for the line and was hit again. Whether it made any difference is irrelevant to how obvious a penalty it was
I'm talking after he was tackled. It's not clear to me that he got to his feet. That replay in that tweet is inconclusive. Would like to see that angle rolled on through.
