I couldn’t care less about the volume of kicking and lack of “rugby”. That’s the great thing about rugby, more than one way to win a game. Especially in weather like that.

I’m very glad we don’t play like that though!

What irks me is the constant stoppages and time wasting and using medics and water runners to coach. They need to get the fuck off the field. They shouldn’t even be miked up.

If it carries on like this, we might have to go to neutral medics and the players can drink the rain from the sky

    Absolute disgrace

Couldn’t agree more. Forget this evening from an England point of view, the time it takes to set a scrum, to throw into a lineout, every time a forward needs to replace a contact lens etc drives me nuts.

@Dodge 2 tactics - scrum and wait for a mistake. When England weren’t making mistakes, SA had nothing. No creativity. Then Ox came on and started winning them penalties and field position.

That’s not the style of rugby that we may enjoy but I thought that was a great game, tense and close with both teams trying manipulate through kicking and set piece.

I hope SA are tired next week because their ability to come back is very impressive.

We should just keep on playing, unless you need a stretcher, he can hobble off and bring on a sub.
No need to blow the whistle and stop the game.
Props boot comes off, then scrum without a boot.
Go down injured, don't care play on.
    Just don't stop the game.

Yep spot on. My nerves are fucked already. Not sure if it is the beer or the sheer fear of not winning the 4th world cup and letting SA get ahead of us. As someone said, we play the best type of rugby in the world. that should win for rugby sake.

England wanted to play from static ball and put SA under pressure in the channels in the air - that was out chance. NZ have to play them off their feet (after hitting up front), kicking more intelligently at the right times than France - but play with pace and get the fucking medics off the field

@Dodge I’m sure Foster will have a chat with the ref before the game about the medics.

Scrum now worries me. Lomax and De groot need to have masive shifts.

Our backup props worry me more than our starters. Ox off the bench is a better scrummager than Kitshoff, so it's a risk to select Williams and Newell imo. Would rather have Nepo and Ofa.

We are absolute nuts if we select Newell ahead of Nepo for final.

Damn, have to give credit to the Boks for sticking at that, they looked out of it the whole game, took most of their experience off the field, and still managed to get the win at the end.

I'm a wee bit disappointed England didn't win, I think we could have rolled them pretty easy, but instead we'll have a massive fight with the Boks.

Exactly. Don't understand why some are happy to play SA, when England are definitely an easier opponent for us.

The fĹŻckers come and go as they like and lurk right on the touchline. The sooner they get rules in place to at least blunt this shit the better.

God I hope we win next week. I couldn't stomach that psycho whinger and his antics coming out on top. Say what you want about Foster (he'd have a heart attack if he tried to run the water) but the guy does at least have some class and I doubt he uses a burner account to criticise people he doesn't like.

Oh cool now we're moaning about teams playing wet weather rugby different than us

Can't speak for anyone else, but what made the game crappy for me were the stoppages, not the style of play.

The old loose forward in me fucking loved that. Just a dirty shitfight

The English back row were so fucking good. In fact England won everything except....

The 2nd half scrums. And it killed them. Everything south africa either fashioned, or used to get themselves out of trouble, was off a scrum penalty. And that brought England back and rammed home their inability to turn pressure in to points.

Both teams could and probably should have just picked two extra loose forwards to play in th3 midfield for all they did. Game completely bypassed them.

Hard to call it a deserved victory, but in a game like that you just need to find a way to be in front at the end. South Africa found the scrum.

Seeing as they lost by one, I guess the loss can be put down to Farrell getting marched 10 for mouth. Lol.

What was the point of picking Billy V? The guy was slow, made handling errors and was ineffective. Great in the past but is well past it now. They should have gone with Mercer who is a far superior player.
