RWC SF: England v Springboks

That was ugly Rugby, from both sides.
Just a bloody kickathon, go play bloody football if you like kicking it so much.
England had a chance at the end, but they had zero ideas how to actually play rugby with the ball in hand.
I think that last wayward kick by the Poms put them under pressure. Had it been a better kick just outside the SA 22, they could've controlled the game from there.

I'm looking forward to playing SA after that. They're tuckered
I doubt it, they had so many rests
Imagine how burnt their retina are from having to make all those decisions though
-
@antipodean game of inches. England won most of the little battles for the majority of the game. SA won the key ones in the last 12 mins.

England brave as anything but they had 56% possession and couldn’t manage a single clean break.
Sooner or later they are going to need to find some 5/8s and Centres who can pass the ball.
To be fair, they played the Boks at their own game and but for a decision here or there did it much better. France lost chucking it wide, England have bigger 3/4s and sent them up to compete as that was their advantage. It worked. Not pretty but rugby is about winning
And we didn’t. Fuck

They got to comfortable with the lead, then didn't adjust after the try. Kick it long, every time. Even the ABs have put away the defensive bomb!

It was a mistake, not a tactic, we kicked to compete all night and it worked all night, it just didn’t go far enough.

I disagree, is still a risk. Things had changed because any knock on meant scrum which was penalty toSA. Good game managers would've changed at that point. Not worth the risk, as shown
-
@Dodge exactly. The tactics were right because the Boks arial game out wide is not one of their strengths.
I would’ve been livid with the ABs if we started trying to “run it” in those conditions when there was opportunity to kick to the wings and have the likes of Jordan, Jordie and Telea creating havoc on the kick chase.
Still baffled by that last scrum penalty.
Well at least Hawkes Bay lost.

We should be fresher but they should be confident after the Twix mauling.
I hope they are.

Easy with hindsight, but if it goes another 15 / 20
Metres and he wins it we win the game. -

I’m glad that the teams that did the hard work of beating France and Ireland made it
Yeah good way of looking at it. From that perspective there’s no way England deserved to be there.
