Voges' average has dropped from 95.5 to 79.55 in this series.

I'm quite pleased about that.

Based on his first class record he's got a pretty inflated average in all three forms. I suspect he's not "a great of the game" and I hope he'll play long enough that he's not an anomaly at the Andy Ganteaume level.
-

What's been most impressive is that on a flattish wicket against militray medium pace bowling at a 5th or 6th stump line, Guptill has been very measured in his shot selection. I expect that they might start ramping it up against the spinners (I always get nervous when I see sweeps these days - it's far easier to get a LBW decision post DRS than before) but hopefully the same considered shot selction will win out - no need to go full retard - just accumulate and let the pressure and fatigue do the work

-

TAB knows what it's doing.

Guppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reasonable chance he's going to average more than 60 for the series, but I'm regarding that as a failure. I wanted 250+ runs out of him for twice out. Latham a good chance to do that.
-

Well they couldn't really be in a stronger position than that. Good that Taylor will come out fresh to support KW and that they didn't have to fuck around with nightwatchmen or anything.

More of that same at a similar scoring rate would be good fellas. Sensational first day.
-
If Kane gets his 100 then he has tons against every test playing nation. What a legend.
-

All hail King Kane.

-

According to Cricinfo, he is just the 13th player to score a Test hundred against all nine other Test playing nations.

Martin Crowe never scored one against South Africa.
-
This coverage is gold.

Can hear all the background noise - the ball thudding into the bat, the 6 people in the crowd, the ground announcer, the Zimbos trying to be positive in the field, but no dreary commentary.

Thumbs up.

And well done Kane, I hope to see you still batting when the bloody voice is finished. -

Snap, Siam !

-

Time to make it rain boys, put these guys to the sword even more than the first test.

Easy to get a bit blasé about the amount of decent Rugby players we produce but the two guys batting at the moment are top fucken notch. Appreciate them while you can.
