Yes, the great challenge for us will be getting up for a semi against the Argies after we emptied the tank for this one.

We were in a similar position in 2019 and got blown away.

The Argies will look to spoil everything next week and will be very dissapointEd with themselves if an actual game of rugby breaks out.

They will be very tough and I think that will be close.

So the key for this week is a bigger rest time? I'd be tempted to give them an extra day or two.

Sam canes best game ever. He gets a lot of shit thrown his way both from kiwis but also other teams supporters but he was superb. Such dominant tackling.

No. Physically, we are in pretty good shaped compared to other sides I think.

I meant more mentally - this game against Ireland would have seen us spend a lot of emotional energy beating Ireland and also leading up to the game. We wanted it. They embarrassed us last year.

It’s like 2019. We were outstanding in the qtr final and nowhere in the semi final.

    overconfident

There was a moment against Scotland last week when Ireland emptied their bench and they just looked super confident.

I first thought oh shit, as they just looked, err, kind of like we used to. Confident in their team and systems.

But then I thought France 07 ... and maybe they had started believing their own press. Maybe it was hope on my part ...

Still honestly can’t believe this result.

Ireland have NEVER had a better chance at winning a WC. Ever. That team seriously looked odds on to do it but now they find themselves where they always do in WC time yet again.

Let’s be honest, there wasn’t much in that. It really could have gone either way. Huge defence at the end.

    But it didn’t.

What can I say except well done New Zealand.

My heart goes out to our wonderful Ireland team but they didn’t have enough against a simply superlative NZ team.

    Congrats guys.

We did it. Sunday dinner with the in-laws tomorrow should be tasty. Hopefully by then I can hear all about how they were cheated!

Sam Cane take a bow you. Nobody would have begrudged you talking some shit after that to the totally anonymous Irish back row. But you just shake their hands and wish then well.

You're a better man than any of us here on the fern that's for sure!

I walked out of the room. Totally stressed out with this shit.

Ha ha. Yeah, my dear Mum couldn't watch the last couple of minutes. Went and "hid" in the laundry.

God Bless her. I just become a nervous wreck with games like that. Fuck knows what I will be like in 2 weeks assuming we get there !!

That's the best game of rugby I've seen in a decade since 2013 ABs Boks at Ellis Park

    Both teams played fucking well.

The ABs set piece and breakdown work was exceptional.

The intensity of ABs to keep getting to their feet was incredible. Talk about emptying the tank.

Not sure how you give a man of the match - nearly everyone had a claim. Cane and Ardie were enormous. Jordie match winning moments.

Hard luck @Derm-McCrum @The-Irishman @leinster and other Irish fans you have a fantastic side. Your lads didn't choke - you just got beat by a team that red-lined in one of the best World Cup games of all time.

Cheika is no Eddie Jones, all the for years leading upto 19 he consistently talked of beating the abs. His game plan was built around that, that was his final. We won't see the same focus from Argentina
