RWC Week 4: All Blacks v Italy
-
Right. Here in Lyon. Going to the game. Can see why Kiwis like it here. More of a laid-back feel to it than Paris. Weather is good, very warm, clear, cloudless blue skies. Food is tasty, beer is cold, and everthing in good walking distance, although the Rugby Village is a bit shit, it is made up for by the charm of the old city which is slow to wake up but comes to life at night....or is that just me...lol. Certainly a lot more bonhomie here. Plenty of Kiwis and AB supporters thronging in the streets, all doing the same touristy things just waiting on the match to start. Cant wait. C'mon Black!

@Jailbreak7 I don’t know what “thronging in the streets” is, but I sure as fck wish I was there doing it with y’all!
-
If we mess this up will be looking forward to Frank's post game analysis.

Fan Zone was a joke, not a screen in sight
Far better to watch matches in barsGetting to and from the stadium is laborious
Get there early, be prepared to take forever to come home
At least that was my experience last Sunday
JokeCouple of bars/vans outside the stadium before going in
They're easier to get served and have food tooInside the ground only Asahi is served
So if you're not a lager drinker you're fucked
CrazyEnjoy the match, cracking stadium

Cheers for that mate, will do!

Don't run shite ball, it doesn't work
This is the key. It's that simple.
-
Carley, wasn't he the ref that whistled us off the park vs the Boks? Touching in the lineout etc
Lets hope we have learnt and can adapt to his pedantic calls, or this will be a very stop start game.
You would think it would be someone's job to analyze the ref so we don't make the same stupid mistakes.Luckily for me I have the only British pub in CO just a min away, so can have a few lunch beers and watch the game.
-
Looks like RMo will start..
-
Famous Three Kings West Kensington hoping ref will be alright

Sitting in a pub in Paris hoping they show the game and that I'll last until at least kickoff time with my god-awful French not leading to me being kicked out.
Tip No.3 for non-French speakers in France: If they can't understand your English it's because you aren't speaking loud enough.
-
Disciplined tight performance please - preferably one that takes the officials (and Italy) out of the game...
-
@Mattasaurus yeah I think discipline is a massive thing for us, sort that and it will flow into the rest of our game, too loose there, means everything else is off.

Particularly with Matthew Carly on the whistle..... anything short of good discipline will be incredibly costly.
