Have been watching it already, slow start but is finding its feet as it has gone on (currently up to episode 12 i think)

I think The Mentalist' is one of the best shows on at the moment. Lighthearted (love the deadpan-Korean guy) but has that darker storyline woven through it. I believe Red John' features a bit more in other series. I'm definately looking forward to its return. I think Simon Baker (Aussie actor) is cool too. I liked him in The Guardian' as well. Fiennes character can be a bit grating in a Horatio Kane kinda way, but it's a good watch. Yeah the book is of the same name.

To be honest I think the only change I'd make is I'd have watched Third Rock From The Sun' reruns. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Which reminds me. Did anyone watch The Visitors' or Day of the Triffads'? I remember the originals (but I think The Visitors' was called `V' back in the 1980s. The 80s version, I hate to say, was much better. 
 
I thought the recent television version of DOTT was pathetic. How can anyone make such a hash of such a classic?

isnt that flash forward soemthing to do with the Lost team? I steer clear of anything that uses Lost as a reason to watch it! 
 
Yeah I like the Mentalist too, as you say, light hearted but with the darker story running trhough, and for the most part, most of how he solves things is explainable, not merely just he thinks it, and basically outwits them to get the answer. 
 
As for Horatio Caine...the looks, the turn of the shoulder to look into the distance while explaining to someone they are busted....oh, and the Hummer for the Police vehicles? C'mon!!

Tim; on Dexter, yeah I think the whole family thing is what has ruined it IMO, deviates his character away from what made him. Given his meticulous attention to detail, seeing him make all these elementary errors detracts form the show, so while ridding the show of one of the reasons he has been distracted, while appropriate, seemed pointless. 
 
Will still watch it if another series is made, as I still like it, but not with the enthusiasm I used to.

I saw Day of the triffids Teejay and totally agree. Hard to put your finger on it exactly but it was crap. No suspense, no drama, an irritating as fuck bad guy....also they changed a few things from the book which wound me up. They truly butchered it.

Currently watching House, Bones, Mentalist, Psych, NCIS, Leverage and White Collar. Looking forward to the return of CSI (I like it with Lawrence Fishburne, going back to its roots has really helped IMO), Warehouse 13 and Lie To Me.
