that's a fair whack of tin to be pushing bro, nice!! what sort of reps are you doing at Max weight? I had an unholy urge for a Cheeseburger combo today but owned up to it to the missus, ended up getting Sushi but it was close ha ha
At 120 ? just the one rep if you can even call it that, not pretty, certainly not effortless, the arms get shaky and I go about 16 shades of purple when doing it. Still my shoulders, arse and feet remain in place so I guess it still counts ! As mentioned on your thread I've fucked out on that on more than one occasion too !

yeah I don't know how you'd bench with any confidence without making sure your grip was sorted. Is there any sort of reason why people go for the no thumb approach BM?

I do it so it makes sure the weight is right on then end of my wrist joints - not in my hands then then my wrists having to lock out and take the weight. If I go thumb over in my grip now it hurts my poor widdle hands!

I thumb over for all pressing movements - shoulder presses / bench presses, dumbells and barbells.

But that the end of the day, whatever feels most comfortable. BUt thumb over forces you to get the weight in the right place when pressing.

Latest weigh in.....99.4kg. Not a great deal lost since last weigh in....I have been a tiny bit slack with the food, pregnant wife had a bad day with the boy and was stressed so it was "ah fuck it we'll get KFC". Trying to avoid things like this and that'll be easier when MN5 number 2 is born and she feels better !

Not going to the sevens will help my alcohol intake but will no doubt have a few cold ones with the old man as we're visiting over the weekend. Will try and make them low carb if at all possible.

yeah if you are constantly beating yourself up for slipping up with your eating plan you'll just feel stink bro. I reckon that we're getting fit as part of enhancing our enjoyment of life. For me the odd takeout meal and beers are definitely life enhancing!!

Thanks boys ( sniff ) that makes me feel better ! you're right though the odd day isn't gonna hurt. My main vices are booze and chippies/shapes etc. I'm lucky in that I don't particularly like donuts/cream buns and shit like that so they're never an issue for me.

As is often the case at this time of year for most of us I'm going to a few bbq's so as I alluded to earlier I try and not snack on the chippies and bread and instead load the plate with chops, chicken, steak etc and loads of greens. I also try and avoid too many processed sausages cos they're a bit naughty.

All the while indulging in the "hobby" but hopefully not too vigourously !

Reporting that there is nothing too report. One power walk with the boy on my shoulders and that is it. Was gonna do some weights but basically couldn't be fucked and have justified this by the realisation that it is often good to rest the old joints every now and again. Back into it tomorrow though.

.....actually I played lots of darts over the weekend, does this count as exercise ?

I used to end up with a sore bicep the few times I would play darts. I think the fact I try and javalin the dart through the board might have somehting to do with that!! SO I would say yes, it counts!!!!

My opponent ( father in law ) did that a couple of times after he missed the double and busted. Good to beat him with my gentle lobs. No pain in the left gun at all though, I must be doing it wrong.

Underarming is only if you're attempting to go bust !

Some of my throws are so gentle they fall out of the board but hey, its all about accuracy not brute force !

Latest weigh in 98kg exactly. Surprised as I have been a bit slack with the food lately, Target of 95 by (mid) March still very possible. Still trucking on with the weights and having fun, punching the bag every now and again and my darts is ever improving as well.....

Latest update......and still around 98-99 kg. I put this down to being made redundant recently and being forced to slacken off on the food ie eat whatever is a bit cheaper rather than better for you. Still as I am in between jobs theres no excuses whatsover for not finding the time to do a few workouts. Did a personal best on the skull crushers the other day, like someone getting run over by a train I was chuffed to bits.
