was given a sizeable Dan Murphy's voucher so treated myself to this
It was pretty good without being amazing. Though i think my tastebuds have been changed by a constant barrage of grunty South Australian reds (even the Grenache i drink has more punch than this).
If you are going to spend this much on a bottle i reckon you can get something better.

not in stock currently, but if you're drinking Grenache, I recently drank this in Barcelona and loved it..highly recommend, if anyone can find it

Shit - I had to go check what I've got sitting on the shelf in case it was this, as I seem to recall it cost a couple hundy... but nah, it's the "Le Sol 2014" - another from the "Prestige" range.
Good to see they've named a wine after Sophia... when I visited, it was clear the owner had a massive hard-on for Sophia Loren, to the point of naming the pair of hemispherical buildings after her titties. -

I can get it here, so I’ll give it a go!

Seriously. I think the French are missing a trick not selling this stuff off to certain visitors their country will have over the next month or so.

Saw that and thought exactly the same thing
Or gift it at the airport
When my missus and I went skiing to Georgia we were presented with a bottle of Georgian wine each at immigration and wished a great holiday
We drank Georgian wine all trip

“European Commission data for the year to June shows that wine consumption has fallen 7% in Italy, 10% in Spain, 15% in France, 22% in Germany and 34% in Portugal, while wine production across the bloc - the world's biggest wine-making area - rose 4%.”
Amazing figures. Certainly hasn’t made a dent in prices on this side of the world.
I’m doing my best to maintain global wine demand, but clearly I need help!

Yeah really wasn’t happy with the ABs last night. Oh, wait, wine. D’oh.

A question for @NTA
I've been offered some Moss Wood 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon at £324 per case of 6 in bond, so duty and VAT to add. I'd reckon it would end up costing me around £80 a bottle. I'm not heavily into the more fruit driven reds that we tend to get from Aussie, so my question is does this one fall into that character is it a more European, subtle style? This of course is assuming you know the wine in question.
-
@Catogrande I do not.
But the Margaret River cab savs I've had I would rate highly. See if you can find any online notes?

Margaret River reds are fruity and intense by nature. I've not had the wine in question but it would be at odds with the character of the region.
-
@antipodean quick google says someone online gave it 98 points
-
@Catogrande Very few aussie reds I've drunk taste old world in nature. I've had cab sav from McLaren Vale which was more restrained, I believe the climate is cooler there. But still not bordeaux style

Mike - this probably needs its own thread. I need to know more about skiing in Georgia. Like a segment from a George Miller film.

Thanks guys. There's enough input there to make me think that it's not for me - at least not at that price point.

I've found Western Australia's Margaret River region* Reds to be lighter than say the SA or Victorian reds but I'm not a huge Cab Sav drinker and of course there's the rider about my judgement in general.
(*But I generally prefer the Pemberton area ones).

Barrecas Wines near Donnybrook in WA. Traditional Italian red wines to die for.
