RWC Week 1: France v All Blacks
-
@BerniesCorner the TV producers needed him to take Dupont out of his pocket đŹ. Dupont is a fantastic player, but he wasnât the best 9 on the pitch last night (until Christie came on).

@Frank Yes, a copy of the previous one.
@Frank is in denial.
Give him some comfort and donât ruin it.
Heâll move through the stages on his own time.

You clearly haven't been paying attention to what I have been saying about Foster.
Summary - it's not good. -

Why was A Smith subbed
Agree Smith could have played a full 80, why is there always this need to replace the. Halfback?
-
@Nevorian fatigue clouds decision making perhaps? Dupont was on until 76th minute, so it is an AB tactic thing.
Again, probably an overhang from when ABs had âclosersâ worthy of the name. Comes back to cutting your cloth according to the material you have at your disposal.
-
Could have been a pre determined sub of our most important player in a meaningless fixture when it comes to the RWC? I'd be surprised if we are subbing Smith in the finals, though I could be wrong.

Pig headedness?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but something I noticed while watching this morning: less replays during play. Less chances for the crowd to "ooh!" and "aah!" for potential infringements.
It was a bit of a blight that hometown broadcasters were pointing the ref towards possible visiting infringements. Didn't seem to happen.

@stodders said in RWC: France v All Blacks:
@antipodean did you see much live that was a positive for the ABs? Or was the score difference a fair reflection of the game?
France had 12-4 penalty advantage. Converted into being about two points better. ABs leaked reasonably meaningless try late when trying to play catch up.

@stodders said in RWC: France v All Blacks:
@antipodean was the French defence offside by much? Was it visible at the ground (always difficult to judge on TV)?
There was one ruck where that phucking winger was almost chatting to Mark Telea he was so far offside. Had Peyper called it, we would have phucked it up anyway such as ghat second half shithousery.

You are sure of your position, based on exactly the same evidence as I am. Unless you do have inside knowledge. You wouldn't go round slighting people when you are doing the exact same thing, would you?
I'm not claiming inside knowledge and that Foster over-ruled Schmidt & Ryan - you are.

This will give you a laugh...
Interestingly, another record today, quickest RWC apparently...
Oh, fuck me....

@Nevorian said in RWC: France v All Blacks:
Think that our kick chase game is the weakest link in our game plan at the moment, very rarely seems to pay off and normally just backfires with points against us.
I'd put parts of our forward game as being weaker. Little things like discipline, control, set-piece and not going to pieces when under pressure.
Looked to have improved hugely in the RC but seems to have gone backwards.
