RWC Week 1: France v All Blacks

Quick report from your local correspondent here in fucking hot Paris:
Backroom full of donkeys. Vaai, predictability, the worst of them. Tight five carried them. In as much as you can call that display "carried".
De Groot will want to forget that game in a hurry. ALB was MIA after that beautiful pop pass to Rieko.
Will Jordan is obviously a very dimwitted slow learner. Jump to contest you fuckwomble.Beaudy was bloody good until the final quarter. As was Mounga.
The blame for you Foster haters needs to be apportioned to the rest of the coaching staff who have had plenty of time to address the obvious issues. This was a collective display of incompetence.
The buck stops at the head coach. And with Ryan and Schmidt we have had some games which forwards really muscled up and attack was good versus decent opposition. Prior to them, none. So yes Ryan and Schmidt are part of the selectors and coaching team, but there has been improvement with them on board. Foster has the final say, and the midfield bomb/millions of short kicks/play in your own 22 has been the default under the entire foster tenure. And that leads to our losses

Hmm. Two big turn points cost us. Substitution of Aaron Smith and a howler from Finlay Christie totally lost momentum. Brain explosion from Dalton Papalii in front of the ref cost us heavily and he could have been pinged a couple of minutes later.
Tactics seemed daft in second half. What on earth did Havili bring? Can't quite figure out average kicking game. Mounga saved his day with the glorious try saving tackle. Beauden and Will Jordan were a real mixed bag for me.
Pluses were Mark Telea with his energy, the form of our locks with Brodie back and the work of Ardie in the second half.
Jacobson did a lot of good stuff when he came on. Was Vaii the right selection at 6?
French were great with Mauvaka Alldritt and Penaud standouts for me. Thought Jaco Peyper was very good.
Final comment is why the hell do you sub Telea in that situation when Will Jordan is so rocks and diamonds.
Correction. 3 turn points with the stereotypical high risk turned bad moment from Will Jordan3 points instead of 5. For me that was it.

We ought to have been comfortably ahead at half time. It isn't unusual for All Black teams to be low on possession/territory but it is unusual for them not to convert opportunities into points.
They will be better with Frizzel, Jordie and Cane back in.
I was not expecting to win this one. We performed about to expectation. At least no injuries and we fight another day.

Why is it that our sycophantic "journalists" wont actually hit the players or coaches up about it....?

Forwards carry metres got updated:
Scott Barrett 70
Ardie Savea 67
Dalton Papali'i 50
Samisoni Taukei'aho 20
Nepo Laulala 19
Sam Whitelock 14
Ethan de Groot 8
Brodie Retallick 8
Luke Jacobson 8
Codie Taylor 6
Tupou Vaa'i 4
Ofa Tu'ungafasi 0
Fletcher Newell 0Apart from Barrett we don't have much ability to bend the line in the tight 5
Taukei'aho should start but the output of the others is still a concern

Ahh yes, the predictable lament that 'when we're good it's the assistants, when we're bad it's the head coach'. Those with a few more functioning synapses might start to look at the quality of player available and reflect on that body of evidence.
IMO you have to be a dimwit to believe that the problem is just the head coach.

@Duluth the fact that ST is 4th with only 20m says it all really
Or that Nepo was one of the best carriers in the tight forwards. Hardly his strength

This is now just becoming embarrassing. I now live in Canada and I have neighbours who don't know shit about Rugby telling me that the All Blacks are not the same team anymore.
Foster may be a great bloke and all that but he should never have been given the job in the first place. We have just gone to shit under his tenure. We won't get out of the quarters if we are even lucky enough to get out of this pool.
Some of the players should have gone to Japan for good for the payday already. Where is the backup game plane if things are not working? This nonstop kicking the ball away is just a joke.
Richie and Dan must be in total disbelief in the stands. That is the second game in a row that was just sickening to watch. The French can play way better that that. Thank F### they didn't or we would have been in for another hiding.
I haven’t particularly been looking forward to this WC as I knew we weren’t going anywhere but the match at Twickenham and now this defeat has confirmed my worst fears.
All I can say is, I hope Razor can turn things around next year and make me want to watch this team play without a sense of how badly we could lose when I am watching. I am not a Crusaders fan but you have to give it to that man Scott Robinson. His record speaks for itself as does Fosters I am afraid to say.
I wish that I still drank as I could at least drown my sorrows. Yes this is negative but how else are you supposed to feel. My old man was Irish born so that’s who I now hope win if we can’t produce an absolute miracle. Enough said.
Where in Canada?
