Trey-d Lance sent to Dallas for a 4th round pick.

A catastrophic failure of a draft pick when you factor in the trade up costing 2 extra firsts.

However - if Purdy is the real deal it won't matter.

Not Lynch and Shanahan's best work. It shows how difficult player assessment and the draft is. But I didn't think his college history sounded like a winner

i am many excited for this to start again!

I watched 3 college games last weekend as a warm up (incidentally, college football may be one of the great sporting spectacles world wide. The crowd, the bands, the open play, it's pretty cool)

Agreed. Bosa is the type of player you pay elite money to.

QB, pass rushers, difference making receivers, that's where you blow your cap. And then elite corners.

About time. He's a great player and a leader, the lynchpin of the defence. The way NFL economics works, in a couple of years that money will feel like great value

I'm more excited about NFL kicking off than RWC tomorrow. Midlife crisis baby, can't wait ... on the couch with the hype train at the moment. NFL know how to build for a game - rugby take note!

this has been a damn fun game.
KC need a WR1. They have people dropping balls all over the place - Mahomes is a cheat code, but the KC Oline and WR corps look verrrry average tonight. And yet, they still damn near burgled the game.

Lions look like they are going to be a fun watch again this year. Can see why they have a waiting list for season tickets for the first time - I pay to go and see people play their heart out, and that is exactly what Dan Campbell has got these guys doing.

Great fun, great to be back

49ers usually start slow week 1 - not this year.

    That was impressive.

A reminder not to read too much into preseason where Steelers looked incredible and 49ers defence couldn't stop the run.

Love the FB fans in preseason crying that the sky was falling in SF. Unlike the NBA there are no trophies awarded in preseason

Daniel Jones living up to his new contract I see.

To be fair, one week in called 'overreaction week' for a reason, but man this is a miserable start for him.

Aaron Rodger has not even completed a pass for the Jets and he's injured.

    Quite an opening weekend

The Chiefs, Bengals and Bills all lose
Giants and Steelers got absolutely torched
The Eagles made hard work of the Patriots.
The fucking Broncos lost to the Raiders.

Rodgers probably done for the year with an Achilles tear. That might also be the end of his career - long road back for a 40 year old.

Did Joe Namath sell the Jets soul to the devil for SBIII? I think this is the 4th time they've lost their starting QB for the season in the first game or preseason in the last 25 years. They also had favre tear a bicep and try to play through when they were 8-3.

    Achilles tear confirmed. Game over
