The only consolation is that to date, none of the QBs picked lower than him (Fields, Jones) appear to be slam dunk long term starters. But both have potential and are already better than Trey
So is Purdy and he is cheaper than Fields or Jones

Absolutely. I was only talking about the high draft picks. Purdy has the potential to surpass them all

but i don't like Rodgers much
huh - any particular reason?
I'm planning a Tuesday Night Football regular get together this year - a few folk to watch MNF on delay. NZ timing not bad ... but DAZN sucks balls on quality at the moment; weighing up that risk against just getting Sky Sport Now
OK, an update.
DAZN on a modern TV app is pretty good. They have really lifted their game once preseason started - probably had a single shitty server out the back somewhere to start with.
Much better than throuhg PS5 or PC.
Also allows up to two streams at once ... so eminently shareable if you know what I mean.
Wound up biting the bullet as they're the next 10 years of streaming internationally. Redzone on replay is what I want - will be hours of content each week. figured I'd report back as I put the boot in before, it was colossally terrible (including shitty helpdesk)

Trey-d Lance sent to Dallas for a 4th round pick.
A catastrophic failure of a draft pick when you factor in the trade up costing 2 extra firsts.
However - if Purdy is the real deal it won't matter.
Not Lynch and Shanahan's best work. It shows how difficult player assessment and the draft is. But I didn't think his college history sounded like a winner

i am many excited for this to start again!
I watched 3 college games last weekend as a warm up (incidentally, college football may be one of the great sporting spectacles world wide. The crowd, the bands, the open play, it's pretty cool)

@KiwiMurph worth it I reckon
Agreed. Bosa is the type of player you pay elite money to.
-
QB, pass rushers, difference making receivers, that's where you blow your cap. And then elite corners.

me too!
Day off tomorrow, so a good walk in the sun, and then settle in to see how shit DAZN is. Maaaybe a sneaky pint on the couch

About time. He's a great player and a leader, the lynchpin of the defence. The way NFL economics works, in a couple of years that money will feel like great value

this has been a damn fun game.
KC need a WR1. They have people dropping balls all over the place - Mahomes is a cheat code, but the KC Oline and WR corps look verrrry average tonight. And yet, they still damn near burgled the game.Lions look like they are going to be a fun watch again this year. Can see why they have a waiting list for season tickets for the first time - I pay to go and see people play their heart out, and that is exactly what Dan Campbell has got these guys doing.
Great fun, great to be back

49ers usually start slow week 1 - not this year.
That was impressive.
A reminder not to read too much into preseason where Steelers looked incredible and 49ers defence couldn't stop the run.
Love the FB fans in preseason crying that the sky was falling in SF. Unlike the NBA there are no trophies awarded in preseason

Aaron Rodger has not even completed a pass for the Jets and he's injured.
