Otago squad to beat Bay of Plenty on Saturday.
Again, very good forward back. Very inexperienced backline. Sam Gilbert still out injured. merry-go-round at 12 continues, this time with Jake te Hiwi coming in for Leslie.
Should be a good clash this one. Weather looks decent too.
do we know if leslie is injured? thought he was doing well
-
@Kiwiwomble left out.
-
@SouthernMann did i miss him having a bad game? quite possible as i only caught the highlights against southland
-
Both the Bop midfielders will be over 100kg. Leslie is a smallish 12. Te Hiwi is a quality defender and a player they see a lot of potential in.
-
If Leslie is available I wonder why he wasn't chucked on the bench. Would have provided some cover at 10

thats kind of what i was thinking, get the idea of horses for courses for the starting 15....but would have thought you'd have a spot in the 23
was John Tapueluelu in the original squad?

See my post in the Otago v Southland thread:

I just noticed that a player called John Tapueluelu played for Otago tonight and that in round 1 and 2 a player with the same name played for North Harbour (debut in round 1). Is this the same player?
He wasn't named in the original Harbour or Otago squad, so what's the deal here? Is he part of the development squad of one of the unions and loaned to the other?
-
He has been around Otago rugby for a few years. This YouTube clip indicates he was up there
-
Scrum took the loosies out of it. Good start BOP
-
Great ref old mate bredin lol
-
Otago winger gave up too early there...
-
Nareki casual on the kick.. then gave up
Terrible start Otago. Soft defence around the fringes for the second try. Now BOP has 3
21-0
-
Withy with the soft miss this time
-
Great try to finish and close the deal - solid win

-
Not great for injuries this game..could be a few players out next week
Cashmore looking better this year
Solid win though even though we looked like only hanging in for most of second half

He had a very good game, today.
Has improved a lot with his tactical kicking (in both length and accuracy) as well as goal kicking. Really happy with how he has come on.
-
-
@bayimports yes had his best match today. Was disappointed by his erratic kicks in earlier matches.
Geeze the BOP locks do a lot of work.

Blind confidence is key.

BoP are playing very well this year.
-
Got a very solid forward pack, if they perform to form we do well, when they don't...

Definitely - Selby-Rickit and Sangster have been huge as a pair for us.
