Who would have thought we would play that badly WITHOUT Chase Tiatia in the side

Tiatia with all his flaws, is still better than Grigg and Kienan Higgins.
I wonder if all of Lowe, Makene and Tiatia are injured. Why else leave them all out?

I also think Parsons is not having a good season and would like to see Cridge and Lochore get the start together. We probably have to wait for Weber to return for that to happen, unless they give the captaincy to someone else.

What's hurting us most is the constant squad changes, I think.

Well, that was another of from the 'where did that come from' book.

Jonah Mau'u was outstanding, absolutely huge out there, as was Rob Rush.

This kid Woods looks the business, add a few kgs to his frame, and he'll be good.

Nock was excellent, one of his better games on both sides, and Milo-Harris was superb when he came on too.

Goodhue provides a good option at 12, just runs straight and makes good decisions on both sides of the ball, Tua had a bit more life tonight too.

As above, really stoked for Tama Anderson, thought he copped a raw deal being overlooked earlier in the season, but he did really well out there, played smart, good under the high ball and picked up a good double as he overshadowed his wing counterpart Murray who was solid.

Thought the ref missed some stuff both ways, that try Flanders scored, but called back from the ref in the way, was off a crooked lineout, Moulds balked one earlier, some long static mauls and a few scrums i thought she let do nothing but otherwise thought she let things flow pretty well.

Did they call on the TMO in that game?

The ref definitely missed stuff both ways, and I understand from a losing team perspective this only gets scrutinised more, but that game flowed and both teams got to express themselves.. more so us thankfully.

Can't blame Maggie, I thought she was better than most of the male refs we've seen in all games this year!

Awesome from Northland 9s and loosies. They were the difference with the HB stars a bit quiet. Thought the ref did well but maybe HB unlucky on some calls.

That's not strictly true, there's only so much McClutchie, Flanders and to a lesser extent Fakatava can do on their own in a diss-functioning team.

But as a team Northland definitely had it over the Magpies.
