Wellington vs Tasman (RS)

Both teams sufferend from having a very average 10 (O'Malley for Ta$man for most of the game). No direction whatsoever.
Defence was on point for both teams.
Also both teams making many handling errors.
Plenty of effort from both teams, too. It wasn't for lack of trying.

Tough watch for the first 60 odd. Came to life after that.
KHP and Morgan are painful to watch. I thought Noah Hotham was almost as bad though. Not a great game for the 9s and 10s.
Interesting seeing the different comments re: PUJ. I thought him and Proctor were very good. As were Lakai and Shields.
Ropeti can sleep with the shield tonight after a couple of crucial plays.
All in all, happy we retained the Shield. It's gonna be very tough against Cant Sunday. Boys will be tired after that defensive shift.

@Canes4life totally agree . This like finals footy . It's a shield game . Don't care our D won the game . Our 9 n 10 are absolute poos
-
That match is the definition of a poo slinga. Theres 7 year olds that would kick those goals that Morgan and Springer missed too. Poo all round. Smelly poos

Springer was Ta$man's third-choice goal kicker but should have slotted that. Three missed penalties from in front - ha.

Don't know wht Naki would put up that (I know it was a joke etc), because we play Ta$man in New Plymouth, so wouldn't of got a crack, unless they were hoping someone took it off Ta$man.

Because there's more than one route to a Shield challenge*: if Ta$man had won it off Wellington and then lost the Shield to Harbour; Harbour successfully defended it to Waikato and then lost it to Otago, and Otago defended it successfully against Northland, then Taranaki would have their only possible challenge this season against Otago in Dunedin on 16 September.
