A moment of madness of defence, and a couple on attack. Cost us the game.

I’ll be going for Spain. Those English not very likeable. And the young Spanish striker is east on the eye.

Feel sorry for these girls. They'll now be forgotten faster than Vanilla Ice.

Actually I don't think so. Theyve exceeded expectation.

    It's Straya Mate.

Nah, that's just wrong. Australia were outplayed. They had 2 real chances of which Kerr both fluffed, and then a wonder goal.

England had almost all the ball, a lot of control and got a totally deserved victory.

Pom commentators though, Jesus Christ. At 3-1 switched to fully "we're in the final" mode ... its like they totally forgot Kerr's goal!

The Spanish are more skilled on the ball than either of these teams. They will have a good chance. But the English played tough tonight

That 3rd goal for England was a beauty. No look pass that split the D and then a very clean finish.

Kerr goal was class. She had other opportunities but just couldn’t finish.

    In your opinion

England were more comfortable on the ball and had more possession, but Australia played themselves into goal scoring opportunities and shots on target

They converted one and could/should have had more

England scored at the right times, twice through defensive lapses

That's fair. But she will have her chance to make an impact. Legally this time hopefully

A superb ruthless, disciplined performance by England. So resilient. Worthy World Cup finalists.

So being shit in defense doesn’t count towards being outplayed? Hmmmmm.

England more comfortable on the ball, created plenty of chances and took opportunities when Australia struggled.

    In my opinion, that’s outplayed.

Carpenter will be distraught, and rightly so. That second goal was rubbish defence

She was under massive pressure from Hemp. Tough

Is it the pinnacle of football? No

Was that a compelling couple of hours of sporting TV? Absolutely

Kerr's goal was a class hit. England scored a couple of crackers as well that deserved better than a silent crowd and devastated commentary

Gutted for the Matildas. That was an fairytale they were building

    Nah

And that poor defender will wake up thinking about that triple miss-hit for a long time. Her I am gutted for

@mariner4life agree on the OZ commentary. I don’t blame them for being a bit fan boyish, but that first and third goals should’ve got a bit more love.

The second goal was an absolute clanger from Carpenter and got punished by Hemp, so can sort of understand the disappointment.

Just watched a replay of the Kerr goal with the English commentary and got goosebumps and the commentator gave it everything.
