Is this a young team? Some really panicky moments. At the end of the 3rd quarter, 40s to play, just take it easy and get the goal to go in 2 up. Instead they play as if they're 5 down, rush it and turn it over to go into the break evens. Rife with play like that.

Just a lacklustre campaign, which IMHO started from the player selections. Losing Grace was a body blow. But a loss to Jamaica and a draw to SA, it's fair to say we never deserved to make it

@Bones Ferns gun goal shoot is injured. Probably one of the best 3 players in the world.

Given that lineup that was a bloody good effort by the Ferns.

Taking bias out of it good to see an undefeated team make the final and not the team who drew one and lost one coming in to the semi

Can't help but think how much better our attack would have been with Toeava zipping passes into the shooting circle

The NZ analysts call our WA "solid". They fought hard not to say what they really thought

@KiwiMurph campaign reminded me of the 2021 Northern Mystics once they lost Grace Nweke you kinda knew the writing was on the wall .
Agree with your coms ,Grace is right up there as one the best best players in the world she was a massive loss and i think the coach knew it

Watched the other semi - the difference between our attack and Aus attack is night and day. Aus move early and often and are always creating space - they work together well so they are moving to space. We move late, not enough and not in a way that compliments the movement the other players are doing on the court.

Stodgy mate. Sure sign is the number of times we had to pass backwards. I sound like a Toeava fan boi, but she has the X factor that all our other attacking playmakers don't. Solid and versatile are not things that win you world cups

I'm 100% with you on Toeava. Those 2 tests at WA vs Aus was the best WA games by a NZ player in this World Cup cycle.

And yet somehow Noeline isn't feeling her. Says she's too small. WTF? Temepara George was quite small, that didn't stop her. Her assist numbers are off the chart and she makes Grace's job easier

A moot point with the injury.

I was hoping that Jamaica would get up. Go England!

I assume she can serve the ball up on a plate to other shooters too. But we'll never know now. Can be much worse than the service they got from the ones that played last night.

Grace Nweke's importance to the team can't be overstated. Netball NZ must change the rules to make her eligible for the Ferns at all costs. She presents a great target and the feeders aren't hesitating to let the passes fly

The Ferns win by 14, 64-50 to set the Cup series up nicely, with a game in Auckland next

Like the ABs, we open the door to overseas selection and risk our best players playing in Aussie. It might improve us though,. It's done wonders for the likes of England.

IIRC we were the ones who backed out of the Trans Ta$man competition. If so, that wasn't smart. An exemption for senior Ferns playing in Australia would be the go
