Watching Nettie as a prelude. SFs finding Uganda more of a handful. Jeez their GS is 6ft 7...SFs need to crank it up a bit and work their defence harder. Must say Uganda getting the rub of the green.

Good news for the Ferns is they play Jamaica during this second phase but it's not a knockout. If Ferns lose it likely means a NZ-Aus semi.
No danger of us beating Jamaica. Our team, without Mweke and Toeava, look to be struggling for flair on attack. Jamaica have a monster of a GS, they are finding scoring much much easier

Sorry for pedanticism. Nweke.

Either way, I wish both her and Toeava were there. Having said that we have closed the gap to half time.

Over egging it a bit aren't you? They lead by only 3 after getting a 3 goal spurt in about the last minute of the first half.
I made the comment, about half a quarter later and we had roared back. But I stand by my assessment, that they have their giant GS and we do not. It will be a significant difference maker by the end

I didn't see the game but losing means they play England in the SF (due to their upset win over Aust), so that might be a better outcome. I'm not saying NZ will win that either...
England beat Australia....
As I said, beating them is no certainty.
My point was that prior to the WC the talk was winning the group to avoid Aust in the SF. We've done that, but only due to Jamaica and England winning their big games.
Anyway, Crampton should have a good combination with Wilson so needs to play ahead of Souness. It looks like the problem was at the other end in stopping Fowler. Jury should have played GK.

I didn't see us having anyone on court who could stop their GS
Put your tallest defender on her. The tactics were obviously to restrict the feed to Fowler, but that must have backfired spectacularly when you compare the goal attempts.
Do we have anyone close to her height?
