Klitschko, Fury, Parker, Takam & Joshua
-
Its interesting how the heavyweight fighters have evolved into these tall fighters , current world champion Fury is 6 foot nine , in previous eras that wouldve been for basketball not boxing,

Dadid Haye of the top ranked fighters is considered small at 6 foot 3 , still a bit taller than Ali
-

But Tyson wasn't tall at 1.78 and in his prime I'd wager he'd hold his own against the overgrown contenders of today.

-
Tyson would , some of the others would too, that want my point so much , just the massive change in dimensions,

Tyson did say though, he thinks he would struggle to beat Klitsccko , with his ability to keep fighters of his size on the outside

That was the way to beat Tyson, keep him out of his range and hug him as soon as he came in. Frustrate him.

Of course no one was good enough until he came out of prison. I'm sure Cus would have addressed that.

On the Lesnar doping; this has starkly highlighted the real problem - dope and get paid. Then deal with the fallout by wiping your tears away with Benjamins.
-

So expecting an announcement tomorrow for Parker to be fighting Alexander Dimitrenko next up.

The guy is a big unit at 2.01m and has a record or 38-2-0 with his losses coming against Chambers and Pulev.

A step in the right direction for sure
-

Definitely channeling the spirit of Dolph Lundrgren with his 'do.

That's a fine record, scanning the list of his fights in Wikipedia there doesn't seem to be too many "names" there ( although to be fair I'm no expert on todays fighters )
-

Yeah not a lot of real names in there was my thinking too.

Flip side of that is, despite us proud kiwis building him up, JP is hardly a real "name" either in all honesty. A loss to an ex leaguie like Soloman Haumono would have been a fucken disaster.
-

It's a good opponent for him at this stage of his career. Definitely the 2nd best opponent for him after Takam and should be able to get some rounds in without being troubled too much.

Also good for him to come up against a bloke with a huge reach advantage too, just like the others further down the line in his "journey"
-

He posesses a goodish jab which should keep Parker's questionable defence but has a very slow right hand and doesn't have a lot of power. Was in a good battle with Pulev before being knocked to the canvas late on with a jab so his chin is also questionable.

Can not see the Burger King boxer winning a world title fight against any of the main men in the division.
-
The Joshua fight is still no certainty , with the fury klitchko fight 2 now looking like a non event .
Klitchko and Joshua are in negotiations, Parker could get pushed to the background for a bit longer .
-
That was Pathetic from Dimitrenko who wanted a payday and tried to get a DQ. Having said that, Parker looked a lot better in this fight and is in a good position for a title fight whether it is Joshua, or if the rumours are true, through the WBO if Fury is stripped of his titles (which would be the far more sensible route to go).
