England finished that reasonably quickly. There was an extra 17 runs because of that no ball though

Moeen Ali at three just seems so wrong.

It’s like the Black Caps putting Vettori there

( actually in the era he played this wouldn’t have been a bad idea )

Ali’s technique is miles ahead of Dan’s. Has always looked a natural batsman, just a question of execution and circumstance

What an incredible session of cricket by England

    178 runs in a session.

Definitely rode their luck but some wonderfully aggressive cricket.

Is Vettori responsible for Aus bowling plans and fields? Aus look all over the shop.

Bazball at its finest. A huge session for England. Australia seemed to run out of ideas there. They are really missing Lyons.

Really poor bowling from Australia. Crawley and Root are feasting. 296/2.

    England with the lead.

Most one-sided day of the series.

I can’t ever remember seeing an Australian bowling line-up so devoid of ideas.

    Bazball comes of age.

Crawley chops it onto his stumps. 189 off 182 balls. 336/3.

Australia have done better in last 45 minutes. They’ve taken a couple of wickets and slowed England down.

England’s day for sure but not looking at totally dominant as they did earlier this afternoon.

    Half an hour left.

England 384/4 at the close. Rain about for all of the last three days but England well ahead in this game.

Bazball finally rolls over the top of Australia's batting passengers.

Jeepers what a day from England. Nice to see Crawley justify all the chances he’s had. Huge day.

How’s the weather looking though ?

    @MN5

Old Trafford Lancashire C.C.C. (Greater Manchester) weather

Old Trafford Lancashire C.C.C. (Greater Manchester) weather

Old Trafford Lancashire C.C.C. 7 day weather forecast including weather warnings, temperature, rain, wind, visibility, humidity and UV

50% chance of rain in the morning session but should be clear after that. Saturday will be almost certainly be rained out entirely. Some showers around on Sunday but nothing heavy.

I think there are probably 5 sessions left in this game.

England will probably bat for most of another session to try and get a 200+ lead.

Then they have to bowl Australia out in three and half session for less than 270 odd, I guess, to be a position to win this.

Good news, initially they were banking on three days solid rain weren’t they ?

    Best day eva!!!!!

Probably too little too late though with the weather. I think England will go for 200 more runs in a session tomorrow, likely get skittled for much less and then hopefully have enough sessions to have a real crack at Aussie.

Didn't get to watch much today unfortunately (thrashed the old man at golf though, so can't complain) and tomorrow I'm at the cricket club for a tournament, so fingers crossed they have something sorted.
