Argentina v All Blacks

Hope the boys are up for a big challenge early , in front of their home crowd there will be an attempted ambush , nothing surer ,
we dont want one of those slow clumsy starts
-
@kiwiinmelb hardly an ambush, we've lost the first game of the year versus Argentina more times than not under foster

I guess Fozzie could do anything - but, I'm inclined to think he'll run out what he thinks is close to his strongest available team. Which isn't too much different to what you've got here.
Thinking strongest XV with Ritchie at 10 and BB at 15. DMac to get a fair bit of game time. Finau, SS and poss. Roigard on the bench

I'm tired of trying to understand what Fozzie's going to do. When does the Cantaberian take over?
What cantaberian? I think there’s some guy from the bay of plenty lined up.

I pray for a competitive forward pack

I hope that the return travel plans from Argentina are more organised than what was required to get there. Although the majority of the squad left yesterday, others were spread over three other flights from Friday.
I wouldn't mind betting some will leave even befoe the test?
Makes sense as the 23 will be out of the country asap after the final whistle

If I see Beauden Barrett at fullback I’m going to kill a kitten .

Well I don't want to see him anywhere near 10 either...so best find 2 kittens
But I think they'll want to see how he goes at Test level and if his form at SR is as bad as suspected.

Parsons was at the training camp last week. It sounds like they might give some new players a chance this weekend, but it will be Mo'unga at 10 and Beauden Barrett at 15 for the big games this year. Looks like we are getting the Foster Loyalty 2018 All Stars again. Great.
-
I can see why they may want Barratt at 15. I am not sure they will want to trust Stevenson with his first cap in Mendoza.
This test, while seemingly being the least important of the year, actually has a lot riding on it and we want to start with a win to get up and running straight away.
Otherwise we will be in a similar situation as last year where we have a must win game against South Africa before facing Aus away.
We don’t want the chaos of early last year to repeat itself otherwise the squad may not recover in time.
They have to show the mean business by winning straight away and I’m not sure Foz will put his trust in Shooter for this match.
-
To my way of thinking if the All Blacks want to do well this year they must pick on form. If that means picking a few inexperienced players then so be it.
-
I think they will start with BB, his reading of game at test level at least will probably sway selection, and I still think Stevenson will have them a little nervous with his little mistakes etc in games, though would be happy to see him off bench, but that would leave no room for DMac probably. So I don't know.
@Tim mate I would have Cane starting over Papalii , just think his game is much more suited to test rugby ie hige wrokrate and doing the shit work well. We will big games with defance, and getting arses off ground and working, more than occasional runs with ball in hand. Well my take anyway, I think Cane has played better at test level than he gets credit ofr as he not and never has been a highlights package player. Well just as I see it anyway. -

I think Barratt will be starting 6 but go into lock in the 2nd half of games.
He tends to be an 80 minute player and it means we can bring on another loose forward.
I think so too.
Potentially two loose forwards for the final 20 minutes - e.g. Papalií and Blackadder - to help us lift the tempo.
-
The way Brayden Iose burned Scott Barrett against the Crusaders this year off a scrum makes me skeptical about his potential selection at 6, however he's probably the best option we have tbh. I would prefer Blackadder when he is fit though.
