Team of the final:
Williams/Samisoni/Dyer/Scooter/Whitelock/Cane/PGS/Jacobson/Weber/DMac/Goodhue/Nankivell/Leicester F/Narawa/Stevenson.
BTW wouldn't make a bad AB selection!
In my opinion Lio-Willie had a better game than Pita Gus
Different positions. PGS played at 6 and Christian Lio-Willie played at No. 8.

3 yellow cards and a disallowed try cost the Chiefs dearly.
In saying that if Dmac had slotted the kick the same way he did the week before it would have been a different outcome.
Crusaders took their opportunities and were clinical as they always are.
1 meter back and the try would have been allowed, a couple meters more on the kick and the Chiefs would have won.
Was the one that got away really, disappointing end to the season.

Maybe so but the Crusaders can only do their job which is to win the comp.
They don’t control the workings of the comp how it is formed selected etc.
Maybe they just proved with 8 ABs out of the final it is the enviroment not always the cattle that determine a champion side. -

was that bloody carnt jesus that fcuked that up..
I swear as Dmac pointed towards the posts there was a slight wind behind him. In the time it took him to tee it up it swung around and lifted from the south kicking straight into it

And another a recent AB. If coaches did it with 3 or 4 ABs would agree. And how many were missing from the starting 15. 2 or 3. And the replacements were a high enough std. Not poor
Most team have injuries. Crusader's are lucky to have attracted good backups. That other teams can struggle to do this for obvious reasons. Top teams always find attracting quality players easier

They also have a knack of turning lesser knowns into something because of what’s happening both on and off the field.

...kind of feel like i need to post just because its the final.
only managed to watch parts of the first half, didn't get back to the clubrooms until nearly 6 (melbourne time) so it was already half time, we put it on delayed. By half time watching i was shattered so headed home but saw the score pop up on the socials so lost the urgency to watch the rest on sat
will watch a replay when get the chance
As expected the Saders got up for the games that matter, its just part of the culture

The online abuse that Ben Okeefe is getting is horrendous, death threats even
Time for the Chiefs as an organisation to get on the front foot and address this .
Thought Chiefs supporters were better than that. -

Big call there.

@Steven-Harris
Disgraceful not the sort of people the Chiefs need as supporters. -
@Canerbry if you see some of the abuse , you will get where I am coming from some of the stuff on the socials directly after the final were haha funny , ref got paid stuff etc ..! but to escalate it to a point we’re threats are being made ,that’s another level and totally unacceptable
-
Good on NZR for standing up for the officials from some pathetic,Bitter twisted people we don’t need these sort of people involved in rugby setting kids a great example ,Do they do this shit at their kids games .
They make me sick the gutless fluffybunnies. -

Better to upgrade officials so result changing clangers aren't dropped. Treat the cause not the effect.
Wow, that's a really poor response. Criticising a referee if you disagree with his decisions is one thing; abusing him and threatening him (which is what has happened) is totally unacceptable and I can't believe that you're condoning it. Referee abuse is a major reason for the declining numbers of referees, particularly in grassroots rugby. Without them, there's no game to play or watch.
The cause of the abusive behaviour is not the officials making a few mistakes; the cause is entirely within the abusive persons, who've lost their sense of what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. If you want to treat the cause, then these abusive people are the ones who should be "upgraded", so the abuse no longer happens and bad examples are no longer set to children and young people, who may copy that bad behaviour.
-
@Stargazer I don't support refs being abused. But in many walks of life a person who made a mistake with the massive consequences of Saturday's would be summarily dismissed. It's a professional game now.
NZRU ought to be investigating how to avoid a recurrence.
