Highlanders V Brumbies Super Bang Bang quarter finals

Fuck some of you blokes whinge a lot.

There's more than one style of play of rugby, if all you want to see is big flashy guys running in open play then go watch the Olympic sprints or crossfit games.

I really enjoyed the game, a big part of that was the physicality brought by the brumbies. -
Really ... how many contentious calls did you see? -

what physicality? apart from the scrum, the Brumbies lost every battle, did oyu see the advantage line stat? They got shoved back regularly
-

Landers VERY lucky to win that. No doubt the Brumbies scored, desperately unlucky it was completely unsighted by the cameras. -

A 15-8 penalty count with no yellow card. Highlanders were very cynical in the scrums and mauls, yet they kept a full team on the field.

Also, the Dixon shoulder charge. You'd be screaming blue murder if that play was reversed.
-

I think the advantage line stat was more about line speed than lack of physicality, particularly in the first half.

Their defense was superb, highlanders put massive pressure on them inside the 22. And excellent ruck pressure at crucial times

Dominated the rolling maul every time too. -

I thought initially it would be a clear try - but, he had the ball out in front of him as he lunged for the line and then somehow it ended at his hip - so not sure how he couldn't have lost it.
-

I really enjoyed the game, a big part of that was the physicality brought by the brumbies.

It doesn't require big flashy guys running in open space to be enjoyable for most people to watch, but a bit of skill and flair to go with the physicality would certainly go a long way. They play a dreadful style of rugby, its no wonder people dislike them for it.

I dunno about anyone else, but I hate seeing 5 minutes of scrums in the one spot all because the team with the ball refuse to pick it up and play rugby, to instead try to milk penalties (or a penalty try because they can't get one any other way).

Booooring.
But that's my opinion, and you're entitled to yours 😊 -
I don't mind it it I suppose, I enjoy seeing different styles of rugby competing.

For the same reason I'd love England and South Africa to be strong again, the best test matches were always the tight low scoring ones in my opinion.

Anyway, highlanders deserve the win, I'm not disputing that. -
Larkham looks like he can't believe they lost. He's a shit coach, which surprises me given he was such a smart player.

Timmy Horan if you walk your own scrum around the corner because you're going nowhere you don't deserve a penalty. -
Crazy finish. Well done Landers.

Genuinely lucky to win that the Highlanders. Some of the stupidest rugby I've seen for quite some time. Errors and idiocy kept the Brumbies in the game who but for a camera angle, could have won.
