@Mattasaurus to be honest i am quite willing to cut the Landers some slack ,at the end of the day the Landers looked poorest squad on paper when the NZ teams were intially named ,there use to plenty of quality depth in NZ rugby but much of that depth has dissipated
Believe you me when the Blues could’nt beat a NZ team for a couple of seasons that was far more embarrasing given catchment area ..a point thats been lost on a few posters

That's true but if you are the shittest team, you can't just show zero fight and effort. Highlanders are just so easy to counter and look poorly coached. Tactics and game management are diabolical, to go with a lack of talent.

@hydro11 to be fair their piviots throughout the whole season have been poor
You cant fault the effort of DeGroot ,Harman and Smith so for me its not a lack of effort its about having quality in the right places and some X factor out wide
A fit Jonah Nareki was devasting a couple of sessons back for example

The forwards are good. You can go back to games earlier in the season against the Blues when the Highlanders actually shaded the first half up front but shipped 4 or 5 tries on turnovers.

I'd add Whithy and Dickson to that list ... they play their hearts out every time they get on the pitch..... just no firepower out wide.

@hydro11 this comp goes in cycles ,it was’nt too long ago that the chiefs could’nt take a trick
I am not convinced all of these teams are the quality of what we saw even in 2020 when the NZ teams when playing each other were one score games at the final whistle

I don't really understand how that isn't obstruction. Cane reaches out and throws Burns off balance.

Probably not the start to the second half the coaches and fans wanted.

@hydro11 wouldn't have got close to tackling. But could have been called the other way....depending on the officials
