@Chris what was issue the Crusaders had with Brad, was it his on-field technical coaching? personal skills?

Will the new All Black coaches have a role in choosing their Super franchise coaching successors?

Personal skills I think mainly,A bit of not wanting to fit into the teams patterns I believe.
He just seemed to not be a team player.

I wouldn't have thought so. The teams' respective boards have the opportunity to stuff that up

Joseph might have been approached, but it tells you where the money is.

I wonder what Tony Brown will be doing?
Scotland could be a fit for him.

Moving to a Japanese club feels like a money move. If he wanted to advance his test coaching experience I would have expected him to head to the NH

As per the post above, maybe the whole team up of JJ and Brown go somewhere.
I think Scotland are the main team still unconfirmed and I reckon they would be a great fit to Scotland's 'DNA". Hard forward play combined with adventurous backs.

Plot begins to thicken, there are three franchises with coaching spots up for grabs. Are we going to get local talent filling the void or a combination of coaches coming home from overseas with local talent.

Mitchell looks to be out of the equation (if he was ever in it)

Why do I have a suspicion that the Blues and Crusaders will get top coaches and Canes will just get someone like Gibbes?

Because the Canes are short sighted and usually promote internally even when the coach being promoted isn't deserving. If Gibbes gets selected we are probably stuck with him for the next 3-4 years unfortunately.

I hope it doesn't eventuate and they actually consider other applicants but I have the same gut feeling that the board or whoever is recruiting for the new role will be happy doing as little work as possible.

I'd rather back a young coach like Tamati Ellison than someone like Chris Gibbes who literally hasn't proved anything.

I do however question the NZ Herald article above. Last week they had only kicked off the recruiting process and mentioned there were about 10 interested parties, but now the NZH are reporting Gibbes is the clear favourite. To me it sounds like they are simply making assumptions, so I hope they are wrong.

I think deep down all us Canes fans know we're going to be underwhelmed by the appointment.

Never mind. It could be worse.
